The reason why they don't believe in the whole drawing of Mohammed is because drawings of him goes against Mohammed's wish of not being the focus of worship.
Not to be a smart arse, but if your going to do something to make a point or to protest, I would think its important to understand why the other side finds it offensive.

I completely understand why people find it offensive. In fact, I have heard three different interpretations of it from Muslims or Muslim writers.
Still doesn't mean I don't think it isn't needed. If I lived in a world where these problems didn't exist, I wouldn't think this day would be a good idea. But unfortunately we do.
As I have mentioned in many other threads on this topic, and other religious topics, is that the religious mainstream needs to visibly and loudly distance themselves from the extremists. I have said this with Christians and the wacky religious right or fundamentalists as well. It's not just the Muslims.
But when you get a large majority of the religious who like to sit on the fence, don't want to rock the boat either way, then your going to have a free society fighting back against intolerance, threats, and violence.
I'd rather live in a free society, where freedoms are defended non violently, than worry about upsetting someone who can't speak out against extremists in their own midst anyway.
