Listen are you guys gonna tiptoe around this forever or what? Arlo just go ahead and ask him on a date already. This is like watching a jr high relationship unfold.
We get it, both of you are CPHL badasses

Update: Flyers Acquire Patrick Elias
To Philadelphia: Patrick Elias, 2nd 2012, cold cash
To Buffalo: 20th, 24th, Christain Thoams, Maxim Kitsyn
I'd been after another top 6 winger and Elias fits the bill. I wasn't going to be around for the draft so giving away picks was the idea.
Still looking for another scoring winger.

Couple more deals.
To Philadelphia: Ryan Callahan, cold cash
To LA: Riley Sheahan, Kevin Hayes, Kiril Kabanov, Conditional 1st 2012
I like Callahan's game and he certainly fits what I'm trying to do, with 2 way forwards all over the lineup.
To Philadelphia: Joe Thornton
To Edmonton: Mikko Koivu, Brock Nelson
I didn't wana move Mikko but getting Jumbo Joe was no brainer. Getzlaf and Thornton wil create matchup problem for the opposition.
I am now looking to acquire a #5 dman, I only have about 3 mill left in cheese and will need you to send me the money if you wana trade me your dman.

Retired at own request

This was a deal that Joe and I tried a couple times and finally made it happen. I like Callahan but this was a deal I had to make based on the return. Thanks for the negotiations Joe, it was fun.
I subsequently traded Hayes to the Panthers for Ryder and some cap. Thanks Matt for the easy deal.

Update: Flyers trade Getzlaf
To Philadelphia: Pavel Datsyuk, Stuart Percy, Tye Mcginn, cold cash
To Anaheim: Ryan Getzlaf, midget the Flames drafted
I wanted more defence out of my top line center and dats provides that quite easily. Getting a trade asset like Percy also helps. Quick easy deal.

We tried moving perry for getz earlier but it didn't work. We are glad to have ultimately made that happen in a round about way using Datsyuk.

Update: Campoli out - Hejda in
To Philadelphia: Jan Hejda
To Edmonton: Chris Campoli, Tyson Strachan, Joey Crabb
Needed an upgrade on Campoli and Hejda fit the bill. Easy deal.
I am still looking for another top 4 dman, rated around 69-70.

Update: 2 moves
To Philadelphia: Lubo Visnovsky
To Winnipeg: Kyle Brodziak, Erik Gustafsson, Stuart Percy, 2013 Philly 1st
This move was made about a week ago. I needed to find another elite puck moving dman after moving Boyle and Visnovsky does that. Gave up more futures but time is now in Philly.
To Philadelphia: Dan Hamhuis, Joel Armia
To Columbus: Chris Pronger, cold cash
This was a cost cutting move, although the downgrade isn't too much. Hamhuis can still play top 4 and Armia adds to couple prospect I have.
I will be looking to add a cheap depth dman otherwise the defence is now in place.
Suter-Visnovsky

Couple more moves, Koivu back in Philly.
To Philadelphia: Mikko Koivu
To Edmonton: Patrick Elias, Marcus Folgino, Brandon Burlon, Joel Armia
I'd been after Mikko for awhile after trading him away, glad to bring him back.
Flyer hire DeBoer
Dan Bylsma and Cory Clouston were also in the running for the head coaching job in Philadelphia but Peter DeBoer wins the race. All indication led to Clouston being brought back and that was even after his NHL firing but moving forward I just felt DeBoer was the best fit. The deciding factor was the money, he wanted the least amount, 110K for next year and he can get extended if he shows well if not, probably get fired.

A fair deal IMO and one that makes sense for us. We compared Koivu to the Stastny deal but in this trade we didn't have to give up one of our elite bluechippers like Schenn. Boyes was a good UFA pickup (IMO) and a popular guy according to league sources. Schiefile and Siemens are solid prospects but at the end of the day we are happy acquiring Koivu while holding onto our very best prospects.
A fairly easy trade and one that didn't take too long.
Thanks.
