I remember the first time I ever saw a tabletop Space Invaders game. It was in a restaurant in Toronto. The only home computer games I saw were Pong. I wanted that but was told no because it would screw up the TV. Which, at the time, was true if a TV was left on the came. The borders of the game would eventually burn into the phosphor screen, and you could always see it. But I was pretty much hooked from that first Space Invaders game. I always sucked at Asteroids, the second I fired those jets to get out of the way, I was pretty much toast.

I had a Sega master system, but it didn't really get me hooked on games. That came with the first home computer we got, and this game:
Quickly followed by games like:
-Chuck Yeager's Air Combat
-Civilization 2
-X-Com
-SimCity 2000

Well...it all started when this guy on the street came up to me and said "Hey man, first hit's free!" I thought to myself "Since I'm in some financial troubles, this sort of transaction couldn't possibly be a bad idea" and he gave me my very first hit of heroin. It all snowballed from there...
Edit: Oh wait, you said games...well in that case, it was Dragon's Lair on PC. Aaaaawesome, then Wolfenstein 3D, Doom II and the rest is history.

Colecovision was my first, it was Bugs Bunny, Ice Hockey and Mike Tyson's Punch Out on the NES that brought me to the promised land.

I still remember the day a friend showed up at my house with a copy of Diablo for me and a crack-addict gleam in his eye...

The first I remember playing with the classic Frogger. I was instantaneously hooked.

As a kid I considered games in two categories - computer games and video games.
Got hooked on video games with a car racing game for the Odyssey 2 (props to anyone else who used that thing). This got reinforced in a big way when my parents bought me a Nintendo with the Mario/Duck Hunt combo cartridge.
For computer games it was a combination of messing around with the Tandy Colour Computer when I was 4 years old and Fraction Munchers/Cross Country Canada in elementary.

I played games like the NES Super mario, duck hunt and others. Played a lot of Sega Genesis games too. Dabbled in red alert and other computer games like Prince of Persia.
However, what really really got me hooked into video games was Diablo. That game just drove me insane. I wanted the best gear, I wanted levels. I loved playing on battle.net, both with friends and random players. The multiplayer experience sold me on games from that point on.
I still tell my buddy that introduced me to Diablo that he ruined my life.

That's not very nice
Hacking/cheating also ruins the online experience....

We were too poor to get a Nintendo so my dad bought us a C64 and tons of games at a yard sale.

Console it was Mario Bros that got me started, but Mario 2 and 3 made sure I was hooked. My first PC game was Ghost Busters on our Commodore 64. The game that elevated me to PC junky status was Warcraft 2.

1 - Kings Quest, Police Quest, Carmen Sandiego on IBM PC.
2 - Missle Command, Summer Olympics, and Empire Strikes Back on Atari.
3 - Techmo Superbowl, Wayne Gretzkey Hockey, Mike Tyson Punchout on rented NES (never owned one rented it for a weekend at least once a month - and 2 of those 3 games all the time)
In that Order
Parents wouldnt allow us to have "violent" video games.

For me it started with an Atari 7800, I also got Pole Position 2 and Ms Pac Man. Then it evolved to getting an NES and Mario/Duck Hunt at the tail end of the NES life cycle. Then got the SNES the year it came out. On the PC side of things it started with Doom.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time was my first game where I got properly hooked to video games though,

I feel shame as a gamer for having never played a Zelda game in my life.

I played the first two (on the NES) and that was it. Never got into it after that.
