As a Chinese person, I really don't see how this is any different then a bunch of chinese people celebrating their racial pride by celebrating chinese new years. let them protest in peace.
Why don't you show up with a drum, pretend it's Chinese New Year and start doing a dragon dance and see what happens?

Taking part in some of these myself, it's nowhere near the same atmosphere...unless there's some hidden "Chinese > You" message in there.

I find that Chinese people tend to pretty open to sharing the Chinese New Year stuff with the whities. I have never felt that I was necessarily directly excluded. It's just one of those things that I wasn't the target demographic for... which is fine.

I've always thought that it would be pretty neat to counter these guys with a pride parade. Imagine how quickly they'd leave? Now that's something I'd like to see.
I really hate the way Calgary's stupid ground-level C-Train system endangers people in the downtown core. But if it mows down a few dozen on Saturday, I'm cool with that.
