If you buy a main floor condo on a busier street, please be sure to get good curtains. There is nothing more awkward than when you are walking down the street and casually glance into the main floor apartment to see what's happening only to make eye contact with the guy on the couch.

SOLD!

Ground-floor apartment coming up for me! I never even considered the benefits of having my cats $h!t in the neighbour's yard.

I'm on the main floor, but I'm on the end of a building (no neighbours), and am right on the golf course. I feel completely safe, and the only traffic I see is from golfers and cross county skiers.

Downtown, or even a in a moderate to high traffic area, the ground floor wouldn't be my first choice.

This is always one of the first questions I ask clients browsing for condos. Are you ok with being on the main floor? There are perks such as not being restricted to a balcony and being able to walk in and out of your condo without going through the main doors. Then there are dis advantages such as the security and privacy. I myself would not mind living on the main floor as I would get a security system and good blinds as mentioned. It is also cheaper than higher units!
