I am not comparing anything. I am just reasserting that 24 goals in the NCAA is pretty good.
His age is the biggest red herring. He is the CCHA player of the year on a team that was depleted by an exodus of talent so that says something. Was he just stuck down the lineup here and finally produced when given a chance?
Expectations are low here and really, it doesn't matter if he's nothing more than an occasional AHL call up he still fills a position of need for the Wranglers. Conroy needs to add more centre depth now and this is the first crack at doing so.

I was gonna say, Sam Morton was one of the best parts of Minority Report

Just be better than Bryce Van Brabant...I think he used the money from his Flames contract to fund a family oil recycling and other waste bin business.
Well... good for him! He could have blown it on hookers and blackjack.
I dunno anything about this Morton guy but it's a near zero risk acquisition. I am kind of skeptical of guys who put up lopsided goal totals relative to the number of apples to put up thou.

Might well help the Wrangles in the playoffs, and they can surely sue it with all the callups to the Flames.
Pelletier and Coronato were both sent down in a paper transaction on March 8 then brought back. So both are eligible and will all but certainly play in the playoffs for the Wranglers. And AHL playoffs won't start till well after the NHL regular season ends.
Whether trades are made or not, Friday will be a hectic day for the AHL transactions wire. A player must be on an AHL roster by the 3 p.m. ET deadline in order to be sent down from the NHL at any point through the rest of the season.

My favourite Van Brabant memory is a video that came out after he was on the team, where other players were asked how to pronounce his name
Brouwer, I think, said something along the lines of "Oh, I just always assumed like the song...you know, 'Whoa Black Betty, Van Brabant'" and I've never forgotten that.
