Then instead of following that narrative which could have been amazing and really challenged the creativity of the writers and artists, It turns out to be a reboot, and they also did the stupid after life with archie.
At least with Sledgehammer one of the most under rated tv series ever, they killed the character off as part of a bigger joke
Did you just put Afterlife With Archie on blast?
That is one of the single best runs in comics this decade.
Seems pretty gutted. Caught between two worlds, you can tell he wants to speak his mind but just can't because he enjoys his current gig to much.
Will be interesting to see what he has to say years down the road when his time with Disney/Marvel is done.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how it shakes out over time, you can tell the entire cast are pretty choked about the whole thing which really gives you pause because these are people that really know him and work closely with him.
Further to which though, I read today that Rian Johnson deleted about 20,000 of his past tweets saying something along the lines:
"If they can get you into that much trouble then it just makes sense, so why not?"

WB should hire Gunn to direct a Green Lantern movie
That... is actually an awesome idea.

The Following User Says Thank You to GreenLantern For This Useful Post:
Yeah, you'd be crazy now to not do a social media purge if you are in discussion to work on a big franchise movie like Star Wars or the Marvel films.
Precisely, and Johnson really explained it well, he doesnt think that theres anything too crazy in his tweeting history, but you've got people on witch hunts with more time than sense and the nature of Twitter as a medium is that you just put down whatever pops into your head in the moment without a lot of second thought.

Finally WB is releasing the complete Batman The Animated Series on Blu Ray! Price should be in the $115 range, the pre-order page should be up soon on Amazon. I still think this show holds up, it was that good. No superhero tv show has yet to match it's greatness. 2nd greatest animated TV show only behind the Simpsons IMO.
DC would be crazy not to run, not walk to James Gunn's door with those comedy money bags with the dollar bill logo on the sides stuffed with $1000 bills, while begging him by saying "We suck, we don't know how to make comic book movies, guide us oh master guide us"

With Tom Cruise as GL?
Quote:
A blind item from the celebrity rumor site Crazy Days and Nights states that Tom Cruise was in talks to star as the lead Green Lantern, but with one major caveat. The rumor states that the character was going to be killed off in the script, but that Cruise would not take the role unless that was changed.
New rumors suggest the Flash film will start filming in February, which will make it the 9th DC universe film released.
You mean the first film in the New DCU, after they reboot the whole thing with Flashpoint.
Things are about to get weird, and probably a little awkward.

On a side note, JL Dark would probably really take off with a light reboot. DC is shying away from some of their most filmic characters.
Go ahead and make Swamp Thing and and Keanstantine canon. They are both still very watchable, in their own way.
The Rot would be a better villain than Darksied at this point. Have Animal Man and Superman team up to fight an evil tree.

Well Hal Jordan is basically Maverick, at least the new age post 90's Hal. So.. ya Tom Cruise would actually be a good fit for the role.
But I'd rather see them go with John Stewart and snag Idris Elba now that his Marvel character is done.. however he is most likely the next Bond so he has bigger fish to fry.

I honestly think that DC needs to abandon existing storylines and go their own way with the films. Why not start Green Lantern with John Stewart, but keep refering to the 'loss of Hal Jordan'. Introduce Carol Ferris as an earthbound sidekick to Stewart, have a caper, end with the emergence of Star Sapphire as she goes to redeem Jordan. Who is off maiming planets as Parallax.
This gives a human face to Parallax in a second movie, which was a big failure in the first movie.
Carol and Hal get to be deeply flawed. Stewart is the hero, but trying to get out of the shadow of Jordan. Tonnes of depth to mine.
