Yeah, Garland is a pretty tenacious guy who can produce at a decent rate. I would love him on the Flames. He is also locked down for a while at a fair deal.

Is that true about Poolman? I heard on Vancouver radio this week in the morning that it sounds like he might be good to go to start the year

Less AAV than I was expecting Miller to take. I wonder if the contract is buyout proof and that was a concession?

Athletic had an article about it last month, they are ok with ferland on ltir alone
By next summer I imagine myers is gone, he played well last year, but more importantly hed have 1 year left and his real money is I think only 1 million, I believe dhaliwal said they were getting offers of 2nd round picks for him this year already
Plus like you say I'm guessing one of the wingers is moved, boeser or garland probably because of value
Add Holtby and virtanen buyouts coming off and that's 13-15 million moved out

Edit- Drance doing everything on his power to be the new Botchford. Overly negative and never happy. Not even 6 months ago he was saying he didn't want the team to trade Miller. Now that they're not going too, he's still mad

Happy for him. Now he can afford to buy a 1,000sq ft bungalow with that contract.

I ask that because Kadri's contract is a painless buyout after year 5, which is why I think he was able to secure 7M AAV as a 32 year old centre.
I would think that Miller's contract must have all 7 years guaranteed with signing bonuses if he's only taking 8M AAV.

Love JT Miller, great signing by the Canucks. It's long for sure, but he'll outperform that AAV for at least a few years and if the cap goes up like some predict, him and Kadri's contracts will be even better.

Is it the market was waiting to see where Kadri would sign so they could move on? If so o don’t see how that relates to the nucks signing their own player to an extension given they weren’t in on Kadri and the flames couldn’t have been the only team interested in Miller?

It set the market price.
Also a lot of teams were in on him, and had other signings left by the wayside until it was handled. Now things are full swing again.

Miller is three years younger than Kadri, signed to the same term and barely higher AAV.
This is a grand slam of a contract for Vancouver.
