If he wants to snowboard, I'd donate him a pair of Burton Photons.

I can't seem to get the $465 CDN, only $465 US, using the CDNatPar code.
Can somebody assist with what I'm doing wrong?

Here’s an MC. Promo page, $465 CDN.

Also, been in contact with Winsport, and sounds like public pipe is back. We’re pushing for weeknights. Taco Tuesday again?

I can do both.
Both have their place, some days boarding is where it is at, other days skiing is where it is at.
I love having the option to do either.

Nah, that's wrong. Snowboarding is always better than skiing.

Banff, Kananaskis ski resorts prepare to open with updated protocols

"The decision to apply the [REP] has come with our gondola in mind," said Sunshine Village spokesperson Kendra Scurfield. "Requiring vaccination status will allow us to fill [the gondola] closer to capacity so it will help greatly reduce the bottleneck at the base area that we did have last year from only having households ride together, and with that we'll be able to operate our restaurants and our lifts at much closer capacity than we would without it."

If only someone had posted a link with Lake Louise in it.
Quote:
At Lake Louise Ski Resort, REP will be applied for most indoor facilities and the resort is working with Alberta Health Services on gondola protocols, which are targeted to be finalized by opening day tentatively slated for Nov. 5.
However, vaccinations are not required to access the slopes.
"We will be implementing the restriction exemption program for most indoor facilities, however, given we have two open-air lifts out of the base area, there will be no vaccine requirements for mountain access," said Dan Markham, spokesperson for Lake Louise Ski Resort in an email.

Sunshine is in a unique position with the gondola access to the ski area. It makes it easy for them and for users to deal with a vaccine passport. At any other resort it would be a huge pain in the ass to have to show a vaccine passport each time you get on the lift unless they could add proof of vaccination directly to the lift ticket or season pass.

I wonder if/how LL might differentiate washrooms and the rest of the lodges. So many access points. I suppose they might be able to segregate indoor seating zones for vax only or something

thanks torture, i was lazy to even scroll up.
i guess LL has some flexibility with having outdoor lifts and the gondola.
our LL passes arrived todfay and i need to pick up our skiis from the shop, but i am ready to go - although we will likely wait 10 days or so past opening day to get out there for the first time

I didn't think it would happen but RCR is checking vaccine passports at their resorts. Negative tests results will not be accepted. Luckily they will be validating proof of vaccine onto season pass accounts so it will be a single scan of the season pass and you are good to go. No need for actually scanning the QR code.

RCR is in a different position too with all but one of their resorts being in BC. I assume the recommendation from the health authorities there was to go all in on the vaccine passport.
^ Kinda disappointed Louise isn't doing the same thing though (especially when they did so many things right last year).

I thought that Lake Louise was still in discussions about how to handle vaccine proof for lifts this year. They are currently not required but I don't think that is finalized and set in stone yet.

This is what it says on their website. Sounds like the "not finalized" part just applies to chair procedures (i.e. cohorting, masking, etc)
Quote:
The following outdoor locations and services will not require vaccination verification, a negative test, or a valid medical exemption letter:
- Chairlifts and general outdoor areas.
- Outdoor ticket windows and kiosks.
- Outdoor patios, BBQs, and pick-up windows.
- Outdoor temporary washroom trailers.
Chairlift and Gondola procedures are still being finalized in consultation with health authorities. At a minimum, we will require those riding with different cohorts to wear masks, even if vaccinated. Upon request, anyone can ride in their own gondola cabin or chair. Please keep checking back for further updates on chairlift and gondola procedures.
|
Personally I would rather see them go all in on vaccine passports — attach it to your ticket and then you can safely drop the mask requirement on chairs and in line and pretty much go back to skiing as normal. That's probably safer too because you know the antivaxers in the crowd are going to have their mask under their chin anyway.
I'm vaxxed and looking forward to a great ski season but it's a bit weird to see both Sunshine and RCR going further to keep things safe when Louise is normally top notch.

Just bought my pass, haven't been out to Sunshine in 5 years,
I bought the Super Card and added my credit card info for direct to lift. Does the direct to lift pass have a photo? is that why you have to go downtown to pick it up?
