I could live with Cammalleri and Stempniak (has lit up the Flames the past) padding their stats against the Flames but if Schlemko has a good night it will be official in that the hockey gods are not going to allow good things to happen to the Flames this season.

Cali, you'll never get your old handle back if you persist in this kind of talk.

'Hockey Gods are mad' scenario would be:
Schlemko gets a breakaway goal.
Scores with the 'Schlemko'.

Would anyone be surprised if the game goes to a SO and Schlemko gets an opportunity to be the hero? I wouldn't after seeing Byron pot that breakaway goal you just knew it was going to be one of those seasons.

Johnny Hockey, "Lady Byng" Hudler and Norris Trophy Giordano, let's go. Enough of this middling hockey from you guys. You're better than this. Lead this group!

Sadly I won tickets to this and can't go. Figures...first time I've ever won anything. Think they were in a suite of some sort too.
Going to predict a win for the Flames since I'm missing the game. 5-2 flames. Johnny with the hatty.

I just got tickets to the game so I'll cancel that out and we'll probably lose.

Really nice to know that Cammy, Stempy and Schlemko are all doing very well so far this year. Especially happy for Stempy as he had to initially accept a PTO with the Devils at the beginning of preseason.
Hope none of them, nor anyone else on the Devils lights it up against the Flames tonight.

I just think people are less excited about games now. I can honestly say that this game is something I won't even be sad about missing. Go Flames?

Try starting a 'Calgary is no good' thread. We'll have a lot to talk about in there.

I just want to see some of the players who have gotten off to brutal starts to get going. Namely Gio and Hudler, but also Wideman and Monahan among others.
I'm with a few others on here, not really motivated to watch their games right now, but I'll still give it a go.

Lots of people probably thinking it's better to say nothing at all then to say something negative.

String a 3-5 game win streak in the next week and we're right back in the hunt.
It's not an impossible feat especially with the home dates coming up. But we have to start playing like our ice is our advantage. Take it one game at a time. You can't fix the season in a game, so don't play like it, but you can take steps in the right direction.
Like Loubo said today, if everyone focuses on winning their own individual battles/challenges then as a whole it'll come together, rather than a few players trying to take the team on their back and do too much (Ramo certainly comes to mind as someone who's focused on himself and taken strides on an individual level).
There shouldn't be pressure tonight because things really can't get much worse in terms of where they're at. Just play like you've got nothing to lose, just like last season when everyone was writing them off. Got to embrace the underdog mentality once again and have fun with it.
Go Flames Go. First step tonight.

Besides the fact that most of the team has been horrible, the defense hasn't been putting up nearly the same amount of points.
Last Season / This Season - Point/60
Gio - 1.88 / 0.79
Wideman - 1.70 / 1.08
Brodie - 1.20 / 1.21
Russell - 1.08 / 0.39
ICorsi/60
Wideman - 12.57 / 8.66
It's pretty that this supports what we already know. Wideman isn't good this season. He needs to be benched. He wasn't the worst or the best last season but he's a shadow of himself now.
Speaking of shadows, wakey wakey Gio. 1.88 to 0.79, 4th on D and having the same individual points percentage as Engelland.
The drop off with Wideman was somewhat expected. Russell has become invisible as has everyone except Brodie. Brodie is just amazing.
Hamilton isn't bad. He's 2nd in Corsi and Shots. Steadily improving. I think if we see a Hamilton/Brodie line it could be magic.
