Hey jobo, when can we expect some more screens of NHL 10 or even maybe a video or two... cant lie, I am getting a little happy in my pants thinking about this game...
I don't have any timeframe when videos would come out. I would imagine after the playoffs are done would be the earliest time for vids.
I must say. I'm a big fan of the "street" games. Like NBA Street and FIFA Street. I would like to see something like this for NHL where its 3 on 3 and you can do ridiculous moves and play on crappy little outdoor rinks.

Isn't what you described NHL Arcade? Replete with power ups and big heads?

Haha, it's funny you mention that bercause what you desribed is exactly what NHL arcade is, it's an awesome little game.
I'm also hoping that they'll rectify the stats some how. Pulling stats manually was a chore, and if you look at say... DICE's Battlefield series, they had web-accessible stats for a while now.
well ea can do it. i know madden has the stats. i played a couple onlin e games in 07 and they have a box score online

Yeah kinda but the thing i like most about the "Street" games is the style, which isnt really present there. The fact that the players wear just the clothes they would normally play a pick-up game in. And the players are more realistic looking. Also the settings they play in, like it would be cool to see them playing on a crappy old outdoor rink and what not like in the "street" games.

A road hockey game with NHL players would be sweet.

Oh that game was awesome! Of course I use the word "was" strongly ... it looks as though time may have diminished it's appeal. I always thought the "hot potato" type game was a really cool idea.
Are they going to fix the part where the AI sucks huge balls in the offensive zone? I can't count how many times I've cycled the puck and waited for a guy to go to the open side of the net but he decides to just stand on the halfboards. It makes the game completely unrealistic when players don't try to fight their way to the net.

I think for that basic cycle the puck you're supposed to actually setup that particular custom play

I just hope that this new fighting engine in the game doesn't turn the whole thing into a fight fest, which tends to happen when something new is added to a game. I think fighting is the least played part of this game for me (in fact I don't think i've had one fight in NHL09)
Looking forward to see what else is added though.

You mean you wouldn't appreciate pressing "LB" for hair pulling, and "X" button for eye gouging

There's a definite limit on the number of fights that can be attempted per game. 3 fights is the absolute limit, and is observable in the last 5 years of NHL. Also most fights don't last more than a minute. With the 09 fight engine, (I don't know if it was different from last years) fights could last less than 10 seconds due to everybody exploiting a bug in the code.

i hate it when i take the puck behind the opposition net looking for a pass and my teammates just stand there behind the defenders, leaving me with the option of giving the puck away or trying to skate away from the guy chasing me and doing everything myself
