It's not uncommon for us mere mortals often get walked out the door the moment our employers decide we part so we don't steal competitive secrets. An F1 driver has plenty of insight into car development....

I actually think it's probably worse than that. An F1 team would have a lot more "secrets" than a hockey team. Lots more technology development. Strategy/playbook would be a factor in both cases.

It is an interesting conundrum, but there's so much money involved Mercedes will milk LH for everything he's worth off the track. He will most likely be excluded from some discussions or facilities he may have had access too before, but drivers aren't that involved in the engineering side anymore anyway.
I'm more interested in wat happens between him and George, will there be pit drama, whose #1/2, etc. etc. I think Toto respects him too much to screw him but one bad call could start a fire.

I am excited to see how well Hamilton will do against Charles next year. I predict Charles coming out on top. Lewis will blame the new car.

I think Merc will want to win more than they'll want to prop George up at Hamilton's expense. I think Russell is great, but based on performance last year you'd think HAM is still number 1 at Merc.
Edited to add: I was really hoping Lewis would race for Red Bull in 2025. I get why they didn't want to do that, but would have been epic, and possibly a season with GOAT on the line, since they'd both be driving the same car.

There are only 6 or maybe 8 seats that have a chance at the WDC. To the extent the teams develop their cars to suit a particular driving style, having the knowledge of who is driving the car helps guide the development.

Rumor flying around that RB have offered Albon the 2nd seat in 25. . If I was Albon I'd be all like yeah no, thnx tho. And sign with Audi. The Mercs are gonna crash hard if Hamiltons jumped ship.

Why wouldn’t Gene just sell the team to Andretti at this point? Makes no sense. The team is currently dogs**t and the valuation is probably favourable. Haas can’t keep up in the current environment.

Gene isn't in F1 to win, he is in F1 to promote his Haas CNC machines

Sure he’s always promoting his business. Has the F1 team ever been a net positive relating to his core business? Just take the sale money and sign on as a title sponsor.

I like it. I hope they take a step forward this year. Vowles seems to know what he's doing.

Been MIA with life, work, and a bit of play. But happy to run the F1 pool again this year if we have similar interest. Was thinking of keeping the rules the same as last year.
We did discuss picking just P2 - P11 and skipping P1 (based on MadMax domination)...discuss...
I also realized I didnt get DoubleK his prize for having the most overall picks correct. PM me if you still want them or we can carryover to this year.
btimbit...still have yours from 2022 P2 as well. PM me.

I will be in for 2024. I think we should pick 11 spots just in Case there is another complete domination by a driver. We would need to determine what "domination" is thou.

In.
I'm fine with any of the suggested options:
1st to 10th
2nd to 11th
1st to 11th
If I had to pick one I'd say 1th to 11th just to add more interest in the mid pack. Hell, I'd be up for the full field for more entertainment and crazy swings.
