I like him already. The words Aura , Calm , Finnish, hard to pronounce the name ...people be saying whodat?
A Calm goalie that keeps the blood pressure of us older fans in check is greatly appreciated.

More David Rittich than an Adam Werner signing. Upside vs. minor league depth.

As a Polish Guy and a Jew, who has a 'jew' in my original last name.... the pronunciation would be.
Vall-tear-ee Ig-nat-cheff.
I know he's Finnish, but that name looks very Polaky to me.
Edit: Read it again, and corrected.

It likely is Polaky or something along that line.
The letter W isn't used in Finnish very often, except in the case of borrow-words. The letter G in Finnish is also always preceded by an N, again, unless it is a borrow-word.

His AHL deal was for two years. He has a deal for 2024-25 already.

Probably.
He’s 30 years old and always was just a stop gap.

He was there for safety.
Get it right!

Guess that confirms Markstrom traded @ draft and Wolf up full time with the big club!

Wouldn’t Wolf need to go through waivers to be sent down?

Nope, Wolf is waiver exempt for one more season.
But my expectation is next year we'll see Wolf/Vladar in the NHL and a three-way tandem of Ignatjew/Murphy/vet tweener like Dansk in the AHL.

I expect to see Wolf and a UFA vet.

Decent stats, but not in the top league so few grains of salt I suppose.
Presume we see him with the Wranglers... I guess with Dansk if they re-sign him, or whoever they sign instead.

Probably need someone to replace wolf on the small club.
Someone’s leaving. That’s the big decision this offseason.

It’s not. Finland was part of the Russian Empire until 1917. There are lots of people with Russian ancestry over there. Ignatjew is a very common Russian last name (meaning literally “son of Ignat”); just an awkward spelling evolved over time, similar to Kiprusoff. Michael Ignatieff (former Liberal party leader) has the same last name origin; it’s pronounced same but spelled differently.
