I was really tempted by the Sydney Opera House when I saw the reveal video, but seeing it built actually dissuaded me. Just wasn't as impressive in person. Tower Bridge, on the other hand, just looks awesome (even if I have no idea where I'd put it...)
I'm very excited for the Parisian Restaurant; early reviews are that it is the best build of all the modulars, which is saying something. I'm debating whether to pick that up next or do Pet Shop first ... but in either case, I'll probably wait until March/April to see if there's another double points event before purchasing.
This thread is not complete without James May and his life size LEGO house, featuring LEGO Furniture, Utensils, and Cat.

If you like this watch the rest of his Toy Stories series. His Pedestrian Bridge (Take that Rick Bell!) from Meccano is pretty good too. But his "Garden" entry into the Chelsea Flower Show is probably the best episode though)

I look at all these massive LEGO sets, and think about how much I'd like to have and build them all. Then reality sets in, and I wonder where in my house (if I owned one) I would put them all.

That's exactly it for me too. I wouldn't mind at all spending money on some of these sets, it would be incredibly fun to put them together... but where the hell would you put them all after.
Over the past several years I've found myself being as minimalist as possible, no insane collections, my books and media is all as digital as possible... getting into these sets seems daunting from that perspective.
My kids are Lego obsessed and I admit I indulge them because my parents did it for me. They've inherited a bin of my childhood Lego and we've bought a bunch for xmas and birthdays.
I have 4 sets that are "daddies" Lego that they can't touch. R2D2 is the biggest but not crazy like some of the Star Wars sets. My stuff sits on a shelf in my office and I dust them off once a month. They're nerdy art more than anything.

Well, right now I have a small 2 bedroom apt. It's already tough to find room for "all the things". I can't imagine displaying something like that (not to mention, I have a very curious cat who loves to climb...)
I have given it some thought ever since seeing the Star Destroyer and I think that the process of building them may be more interesting to me. So I'd likely build it, keep it built for a few days, and then 'break it down' and store it. Eases up the room demand some and I get to build it more than once (I've heard of some folks building these sets with glue...gluing each brick as they build).

Friends of ours have an entire room dedicated to Lego. Most of the time, the Lego has spilled beyond that room though. I keep suggesting to them they they should dedicate another entire room.
I don't have much extra space living in a condo, but I'm going to put up shelves in my office to display the sets I've built. Even then I have more still in their boxes, and on my wishlist, than I have room for, so I'll probably break some of them down so I can put up new ones.
I first got back into Lego because of the Star Wars sets, but now I'm more interested in the buildings. The Simpsons house looks cool, but I'm guessing it'll be around $250 so it's not a definite buy yet.
