You've obviously never been to Tuscany NW and visited the River Vall...I mean ravine.

Doesn't matter. Either way you gotta clear it with signor Lorenzo.

I wonder if John Bean left on his own accord, or did he got let go?
If he was being "packaged out," why now? Not last summer when everything went to sh*t?

Maybe the new management can bring the game-day experience into the 2000s.

Pretty clear the President will be focusing on maximizing return for the Flames with the new rink ready to put shovels in the ground and as importantly, the new entertainment district.
Pretty unfair when most hear don't know what Bean did, good and bad, over the past 10+ years. He was never meant to be the mouthpeice of the franchise, but seemingly kept things humming through the flood and the deterioration and passing of KK.
Still space for a hockey guy in the heirarchy like Burke (and prior to him Shanahan, who turned down the role, to desperately clean up the mess of the Flames reputation around the league made by Feaster).

Ha ha no. It's a minor miracle that they accept debit.

My interactions with an array of executives left me feeling like the technical bar is pretty low. Primary skills are a good memory for jargon and being able to walk like a 14th century English nobleman.
As the new CEO and COO illustrate, industry specific knowledge is not necessary.
"Bring me the Donald & McMurray spreadsheets, and get Thorbin on the line! Before we do anything, we need to steady those insular lines to maintain bottom actual throughput. Bevy! Quicken the abacus!"
Skills.

I have no doubt in my mind that Bean was a top notch business man and did incredibly well for the ownership group, they would not have kept him around if he wasn't.
He perhaps wasn't very polished as a press conference/media guy but that's ok. Ken King was a salesman like no other, he would try to convince us that the Flames are a Spencer Foo away from cup glory, in a new building/stadium if only we could get the creosote cleaned up!
I wouldn't expect anything of significance in terms of overall operations of the Flames in any meaningful capacity, perhaps I am wrong and they are all about complete improvement on the sports side.

This is the guy that told us the 2023-24 roster looked pretty good. And then decided Maloney should be the one to figure out if the problem with the flames in 2022-23 was the coaching of Sutter or the roster construction of his bff Treliving. And surprise, surprise the flames fired Sutter and tried to double down on Tre's roster by attempting to sign Lindholm and Hanifin.
What a clown.
Maloney should be the next to go imo.

It wasn't pretty that's for sure, but I can think of a few other instances where I've felt much lower as a fan than a botched press conference.

Too bad. He was president during the most successful era in flames history. *Rollseyes*

Obviously the criticisms are only based on what we saw as nameless, insignificant fans of what was publicly said both to the press and online. And both left a lot to be desired, as well as some eyebrows raised and sour expressions.
That realm probably wasn't his forte.
It's not about the person, he's probably fine and has his strengths behind the scenes (i.e. with flood) otherwise would never have been in the position to start with, but yeah.. the evaluations of the team and remarks on the arena negotiations were not great. Not very calculated, and as a results were predictably received poorly by those who know a thing or two about this team's long standing mediocrity.

I do miss the poster hallway. Those were a neat part of every Flames game night, and I hope that Stampede brings that back in someway.

What happened to those posters? Did they re-locate them?

If, as it was implied, he put the kibosh on the Markstrom deal...then his removal is a positive to the on-ice operations of the club.

Just sharing what I know, it sounds like a hybrid firing and him choosing to move on like many senior business roles are.
The “I’m not allowed to say rebuild” public comments pissed the big man off for sure
