Thornton was fantastic today.
5 innings, 2 hits, 8 K's. Can't ask for much more than that.

They're pitching well for sure, but it doesn't hurt that they're facing the Tigers. Not exactly an offensive juggernaut.

Elvis Luciano makes his MLB debut and gets Castellanos to pop out.

Luciano stays in and faces Cabrerra, who takes him to the top of the wall where Teo saves Luciano's arse with a great catch haha.

I haven't heard Roger's centre this quiet since the early 2000's. Wow.

lol, Jays starters go 4 games without giving up a run and SRF gives up two in his first inning.

Any word why SRF's velocity is down? He can touch 97 but he is only hitting 91-93. That has to be extremely concerning.

Blue Jays bats ice cold.
Don't expect the bats to do too much damage over the majority of the season. They're just not good enough. I expect the overall team batting average for the season will be around the low 240s.

I've lost my fandom for the Blue Jays. Not in a bandwagon way, but just due to growing disdain for ownership and management they have in place (mostly ownership).
I love cheering for Canadian teams, but just despise the way this team is run. But the cool byproduct of AA's sudden push (that was not pursued any further after they replaced him, instead opting to lean on the roster he built for attendance numbers, without a proper championship push) is my love for the game of baseball has grown immensely.
I used to think baseball was really boring unless it was Blue Jays, now I love watching other games on TSN, like I'm right into the games. Can't wait to figure out the rest of the league and get into some others teams.

If I drank for every time the Jays hitters missed a very hittable pitch, I'd be dead.

I'd be shocked if they had fewer than 100 losses this season. Might be the single worst team in franchise history.

This is going to be one of the worst for sure. They haven't lost 100 games since they came into the Majors in the 70s.
The lack of any star power on this team is just very weird for me as a Jays fan.
We had the World Series teams then, the Delgado/Shawn Green teams, then the Delgado/Halladay teams with Reed Johnson and Orlando Hudson, then the Vernon Wells/Aaron Hill/Halladay teams, leading into the Jose Bautista teams, back to the playoffs and now this team with a bunch of players who are borderline MLBers.
There was always someone to watch. Delgado, Halladay, Rolen, Bautista, EE, Donaldson. Now. No one.

Can't believe they yanked Hess in the 7th while he was working on a no-no, with nobody on base and a big lead. He was smiling about it as his manager came to the mound, maybe he thought it was an April fool's joke.

Not only that, but he also had no stressful innings to deal with or even any stressful pitches to throw whatsoever.
