Really liked the 2nd episode. Getting more familiar with the characters and were the show is going.

I enjoyed the episode tonight, but man I still feel completely lost. I think I will understand alot more after a couple more episodes though.

GoT has been getting all the attention but I've been quietly enjoying this. I thought the last episode or two moved a few stories forward but also seemed to be more set up. We've really had very little real progression in the big picture story. Lots of incremental developments.

Although mostly enjoyable I am still finding quite a few parts of this show confusing. What is the deal with the paintball hunt??

I think it was just that the guys who work for QMP or whatever it is called, Quincannon's meats, have total immunity in the town because Quincannon is so powerful. So they were having some sort of bikini prostitute paintball hunt.
We saw more evidence of how important Quincannon is with him peeing on the mayors briefcase and Jesse targeting him to set an example for the community.

Yeah, I get the impression he is basically a life action Mr. Burns.

Episode 4 was great, but they are really pulling the plot out relative to the novel pacing. At this rate we'll be seeing ~8 seasons for them to conclude this.
Very very good show so far, too bad the ratings are mediocre at best.

That scene in Episode 3 when Jesse's controlling Donnie in the gas station was pretty awesome. As evil as Mr. Burns was, so far it looks like Jesse is the main bad guy, given the way he manipulated him into coming to church to make an example of him lol.
Also, Cassidy's got to be my favourite character on TV right now!

Just watched episode 2. Just as good. I'm slotting this show right behind Game of Thrones and ahead of the Walking Dead for favorite shows on TV right now. Hopefully they keep it up.

I was going to say. They haven't made much progress... But it looks like things are about to shift gears after the last episode.

Really liking the show, but the Preacher is one of the least interesting characters. He's like a black hole that an interesting story and a bunch of great characters are orbiting around.

Is anyone still into this? I've read mixed reviews on the first season so far, is it worth starting or should I wait until there's a couple of seasons?

I've enjoyed it quite a bit but I also know the source material.
I've found that while the episodes are entertaining and have some action, they haven't moved forward some of the more interesting plot lines and key plot points. That is to say we are getting some resolution to smaller stories but the big picture stuff seems to be dragging a bit.

I'm still loving it. Can see how it wouldn't be for everyone though. It's a very mood orientated show, and if you're not into that mood you'd probably just think it's a bunch of oddball characters with weird dialogue.
Also seems like a lot of the reviews are coming from big fans of the graphic novel who don't like the casting/changes.
It definitely slows at points though. It's not typical sci-fi/comic book fare.

I've been enjoying it as well, but its not exactly 'standard fare.' Theres definitely a lot of 'what the hell did I just watch' to Preacher, but thus far its been pretty good.
Quincannon Meat & Power. I yearn for the day when my company can be Locke's Death and Taxes. I'll do all your returns until the day you die and sell coffins and Funerals on the side!

That was quite possibly the most ####ed up first season of any show I've ever seen.

Wonderful season closer. Brings Season 1 full circle with the novels (though it got there in it's own way) and we're about half way thru the first graphic novel set (like, 4 issues in-ish?)
