On 660FM, an hour ago. Well, good for Iggy, no need to change the thread title then.

By your logic McGrattan should be dressed as well

Since coming back from injury, Stempniak has 2G and 2A in 16 games and is -15.

Tough spot for the Flames, Bruins coming off a 6-2 loss to Vancouver. Hopefully doesn't get too ugly.

I doubt you see any of Stempniak, Cammalleri, or Stajan, scratched unless they seriously stop giving a crap, which I don't think you'll see.

Well he's a -17 now. If you continue playing him without having him figure things out how is that going to help his trade value?

Is anyone surprised? He finished the game that it happened in, why would he miss this one?

Iggy played in Van with the dislocated finger, I almost certain he popped it back into place while he was still on the ice.

Fascinating quote from #Flames head coach Hartley, responding to question about RW Lee Stempniak, a possible healthy scratch in Boston: “It's the same rule for everyone. We've said it all along that, while it is a rebuild, it's important for us to set a very clear message on the culture that we want to instil over here. It's all about hard work, and it goes to everyone. I think that I've been real clear with everyone on the team — whether you're a rookie, whether you're a callup, whether you're a veteran, the entitlement is over in Calgary. You need to prove yourself on a day-to-day basis, and I believe that's how we're going to fast-forward our rebuild.”

Happy to see accountability, and you have to wonder if D Jones or Stempniak see the press box if Feaster is still boss.

Anyone know if the refs saw it at the time?
I was really disappointed that fight got stopped so fast. Iggy was just starting to tune on Kessler when the officials jumped in (seemingly) way too fast. Seemed like they saved Kessler from a well deserved (further) beating.

I wish David Jones was able to keep up his play from before he got hurt. Small sample size, I know, but he almost looked like he was worth his $4mil cap hit for a while there.

That's really weird stuff with Stempniak.
Does Hartley not know he's a naturally inconsistent player? It's certainly not due to a lack of effort. It's just what Stempniak is.
Odd how it's Stempniak now but never was Glencross before his injury.

The next morning, when all the adrenaline is gone, you never know how swollen and sore the injury will be.

Feaster's gone now.
I think one of two things is happening:
1) Hartley is in fact a "Burke style" coach and they get along great and will continue to work together
2) Hartley knows he's gone at the end of the year and probably won't be a head coach in the NHL again, and he has nothing to lose, salaries and egos be damned.

It's pretty clear that part of it is due to a lack of effort.
Stempniak has had some lazy mistakes over the last two weeks, has not been working as hard in his own zone, and has been poor defensively.

Back to Flams huh? Well as long as it's not 8-0 this time.
This first line made me throw up in my mouth just a little. Excited to finally be able to watch a full game for the first time in over a week though.

I don't have an problem with Stempniak being scratched. He's been pretty bad since coming back from injury. Really there's not a forward on the team outside of Hudler and maybe Cammalleri that are above being healthy scratches. Guys like Stempniak, David Jones, Galiardi would all be spare parts on contending teams and need to be held accountable for poor play just as Baertschi, Backlund and others have.
My only fear for Hartley is that when you start scratching vets you run the risk of losing the locker room but Hartley probably feels he's coaching for his job here so I can't fault him here.

stempniak has been pretty bad since coming back. I think sitting a game is warranted, and i'm willing to bet his results will benefit from being a scratch.
