Glad to hear it's still opening in fairly short order...

The investigation is now complete and officials say the fire started in the second row of the VIP1 Auditorium and was caused by an electrical malfunction.
|
So would that be the ground lighting?

Finally! The VIP theatres are great for those who don’t want to have kids in a theatre. Bout time they opened one here. One of the last cities to get one, surprised it took this long. but give it a try. If in other cities I always tend to go to the ones which are VIP and are adults only.

Also beer, you can watch a flick and have a beer like an adult.

Only part of the theatre is opening - I believe the VIP parts aren’t opening until August.

The VIP part will be the distinguishing feature, until then its just another regular theatre

Didn’t see anywhere else to post, but curious what other people think now of the VIP section at seton? Have been a few times now and obviously love the recliners and comfort, but the food kind of sucks, no? And unless you take advantage of the food service, not a massive difference with the other recliner theatre’s elsewhere in Calgary.

The wife and I have caught one movie in the VIP section and I'd agree. The recliners are nice, the in seat services is nice... the food while a slight cut above typical theatre garb is lacklustre... below the average pub/bar.
But being able to have a beer at the theatre without any kids/teenagers around is nice.

FYI, the whole theater allows you to bring in alcohol.
But the biggest difference for me is the no kids allowed. That is easily worth the extra $6 I think it is over an avx movie price. I only go to VIP now.

First of all, I dont believe you, and secondly, I believe there is a small fee.

When I first came here, this was all swamp. Everyone said I was daft to build a theater on a swamp, but I built it all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So I built a second one. And that one sank into the swamp. So I built a third. That burned down, fell over, and then sank into the swamp. But the fourth one stayed up. And that’s what you’re going to get, Son, the strongest theater in all of Seton.

The wife and I have been a few times and I noticed a huge difference going from the VIP side back to the regular side. Something about how the regular side reclines yet my head can't actually rest back as the back of the chair is so bulky.
VIP - no kids, a small table top to put my stuff on, heated seats, order to my seat just before the move starts, larger seat wich a much better recline and more room between you and your neighbor make it well worth it IMO.
