Album came out on Tuesday. I've probably listened to this track about 30 times already. I love the end so damn much. It reminds me of something you'd hear in a House episode.

Matt Good was my favourite musician growing up. He could do no wrong...up until everything after Avalanche. Now I can't stand his music. His last 3 albums (including this one) all sound the same to me. I'm disappointed in saying that. A Beautiful Midnight will forever be one of my favourite albums of all time though.

I'm trying to patiently wait for my CD to come in the mail (I ordered an autographed copy) so I can hear what Extraordinary Fades turned out like.

Matt still is my favorite artist after 15 years, however I do agree that a few of his solo works are horrid and most of my opinion is based off of his work with the Matthew Good Band. Beautiful Midnight will forever set the bar for Matt. He did his best work on that album and until he remembers that formula he will probably not have the same height of popularity. Audio of Being you still had glimpses of brilliance but could see his downfall starting (Under The Influence, Advertising on Police Cars, Rat Who Would Be King). Avalance, White Light Rock and Roll Review were tolerable and still made for decent concerts. When he put out Hospital Music it was the first time in my life I had not preordered or ran out to get his CD the day it released. I heard a leak and it was the most god awful thing I've heard in my life. I still can't stand that album and have never bought it. I went to the Hospital Music tour hoping to hear some of the old stuff and got nothing but a depressing acoustic show. After that, I was skeptical of Vancouver but it grew on me and I love what I've heard so far of Lights of Endangered Species so far. I'm hoping the tour for this album is far better then what I've seen in the last 4 years.
In my opinion, this is the peak of Matthew's career (and currently the favourite song):
