Me too. I'm usually busy in the early evening. With late start I can catch at least the last couple of periods on TV.
I suppose if you were attending the game the early start would be better.

With late starts I usually miss the end of the game because I fall asleep. Especially those 8:30 games that seem to happen every time they play in California.

I think every time I've predicted a positive outcome for us this season we've lost, so I'll say 4-2 Hawks.

I'm guessing the spasms started after Hartley stabbed him in the back?

6-2 Hawks. Flames goals from Hudler and Russell. Hawks goals scored by Kane (x2), Toews, Pirri, Hossa and Crawford (Yes, he'll score from the bench. Deal with it.)

It'll be interesting to watch him tonight, that's for sure. This guy was fighting with Joni Ortio for icetime in the World Championships last spring, and eventually won the starting job for Finland. He's 2 years older than Ortio but they've been on similar developmental paths so far in their careers. Seeing how close he is to being a full time NHL goalie will help give us a barometer on how ready Ortio is to make the jump up to the NHL.
|
Not really. Ultimately Ortio might be more talented than Raanta, but Raanta was way better last season in Finland. They're different goalies.

Baertschi's going to have a break out game tonight... 2 goals and an assist. Monahan with a goal. Flames win 4-3

Raanta was more of a mature signing like Berra and Rämö, so if anything the comparison should be to them rather than Ortio. If you must compare.

Cal Clutterbuck
Fat Balloon Pat Falloon (Fine. He's not in the NHL, but that's still my favourite)
EDIT - Kane Lafranchise, call up by the Heat, also stands out as pretty awesome.

This one could get ugly. The Flames take a bit to get their legs moving and since they have been off for a stretch I think it will be even worse.
The only way they beat the Hawks is if we take advantage of a goalie getting his first start.

I'm doubtful the flames will win this one, but I'm hoping we can match their intensity for a good chunk of the game to make it entertaining. We did squeak one out last time so maybe we can ride confidence for a bit.
