I almost went and installed my old copy. In fact, I think I will put it on my laptop later today. Great idea!

I think this is pointing to something new on the horizon. It's the only reason I can think that all these different references are coming up. I hope it isn't just one giant boxed set.

There's two more days until the announcement, so what other runes could they put on? Was there a lost vikings rune?

My prediction: It's going to be a lame ass poster for their big conference this weekend. The poster will contain imagery from all three of Blizzard's main franchises and will have nothing to do with any new game announcement outside the already mentioned WOTLK and SC2. Lot's of hype, nothing interesting to come of it.

I'm worried about that too. It wouldn't really affect my life at all, but it would make me lose a great deal of respect for Blizzard.

I just think that the build up and hype from the splash teaser is a red herring. It won't be as related to the announcement as some think. No doubt the campaign is working though: it's garnered a lot of interest on the internets.

I am hopeful for a follow up to Diablo II (not an MMORPG or something else with monthly fees). Between Diablo and CounterStrike, I wasted away a lot of my undergrad days...

I bought Hellgate hoping it would be Diablo II in 3d. The game kind of stunk.

So if it's Diablo III then hell yeah!

Really waiting for SCII. I hope Terran is not overpowered in SCII as well. -_-

If it is a new Diablo game, I wonder how it will slot in against World of Warcraft. Is it an MMO? A free MMO? Not really an MMO? How will it work so that they don't start stripping people away from the cash-cow that is WoW. I guess it probably doesn't matter though, Diablo 3 or WoW, they still get the money ...

I haven't found anyone who can say for sure. My guess is that it is a solar system, representing the 3 "worlds" that Blizzard has created, with a fourth ring that has yet to be filled.

Though, with BNET being a free service, they won't get as much money from D3 as they do from WoW.

I hope it is an rpg like the last Diablos. I don't have the time to play an MMO, and if you can't put in x amount of hours into an MMO it just isn't worth it.
