Would like to see at least one AHL vet to show them the ropes.

No, he's still learning to be a good OHL player. Not sure if he's even eligible.

He's 19 and turns 20 before December 31st, so I think he is. And I've never been wrong in my life so you can take that to the bank

He was born in 1995 so that makes him 18 turning 19 in September. He is not eligible for the AHL until next year.
Have to be born in 1994 or earlier to play in AHL this year for CHL guys anyone 1995 or later have to go to NHL or CHL.

Well, he is 19 and his birthday is before December 31 (as is everyone's who is not born on December 31) so in actual fact your statement was correct. If you actually believed that he was eligible, then that statement too was correct and you are once again not wrong.

wrong again - he isn't eligible, so SP would be wrong in thinking that.

Well, we can cross off Brett Olson as a returnee to the AHL Flames and possible leader and captain. He signed a one year, two way contract with the Panthers.
http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=725691
While I'm sure many will disagree, huge loss to the locker room there. I really wanted to see him with the Captain's "C" and guiding our young guys in the AHL.

I liked Olson too, but I don't see the point of keeping him around.
He might be older, but he has no more pro experience than guys like Reinhart, Granlund, Baertschi, Cundari, Acolatse, Tousignant, etc.
Not only that but guys like Reinhart, Granlund and Baertschi are better hockey players with higher ceilings IMO.
Anyhow, good luck to Brett with the Panthers org this season.

AHL announces divisional alignment: as expected, Flames are in North Division (Western Conference) with Utica, Rochester, Toronto, Hamilton.
http://theahl.com/ahl-alignment-2014-15-p192750
Being in the same division as the Marlies greatly increases the chances that Adirondack is televised on Sportsnet.

A ton less travel this year (blue pins are the Flames division)
Although I'm not sure why they wouldn't switch the Flames with Syracuse (the red pin in between Utica and Rochester)

This is really going to help the team.
Our AHL lineup looks very exciting.

I like this division.
The majority of the games will be against the Sabres, Habs, Leafs and Canucks AHL teams. With all the high picks the Sabres have been getting (and will be for a couple years), this could end up being a great rivalry and excellent hockey.
And obviously far easier on a travel standpoint. Couple hours on a bus rather then fly and hotel everywhere.
