I have a great feeling about Kuzy but totally agreed on Boltmann. Baffling pick. I personally wanted Savoie, or Benning.

Both Savoie and Benning would have been interesting picks. Both play for U of Denver (they play with Bobby Brink), and both are undersized at 5'9". However, Savoie has 20pts(13 goals!) in 24 games, and Benning has 11pts in 21 games, and both are in their first season of college hockey. U of D is not a very high scoring team, which makes both players point totals pretty impressive. Bobby Brink himself, who was a highly touted player before the draft 2 years ago, had only 11pts in 15g, in his second collegiate season.

Well, it appears that the season isn't quite over for all the Flames prospects after all. The NCAA announced the brackets for tournament today and Notre Dame made the cut.

They'll be taking on Boston College on Saturday at 11:00 am MT. I assume TSN will have it on one of the digital channels, but that's just a guess at this point.
BC was a very strong team this season, so it will be a tough challenge for the Irish.

Did Kuznetsov even play any games before he turned 19?

He only turned 19 two weeks ago, so 49 of his 50 college games were before his 19th birthday (15 this season).

Not sure why I posted that he was 19-could be the fact that I posted that on the 15th, and thus hockeydb.com would've listed him as being that old when I checked his stats as I was making my point. Guess it furthers my point a bit...

Totally. One of the things that was featured at the draft was the fact that Kuznetsov was the youngest player in the NCAA last year, and one of the youngest players at the WJC in January. His age really needs to be a factor when evaluating his progress this season, and that is a part of why I like this pick @ #50.

Not a lot of guys play in the NCAA in their draft year either, so pretty impressive for a blueliner.

Whoops! Notre Dame's season is done after all...

Because of the COVID protocols, it's too late to name a replacement, so BC will get a bye in the first round.

In Indiana, all adults could get vaccinated starting March 31. I booked it and got it the same day in some random rural county. The Johnson and Johnson vaccine takes about a week to work.
This is painful, because the team only missed out on the vaccine by a week or so.
