I think many of us have things we just skim over.

I personally ignore all fan made trade proposals ... I don't see a lot of value in them so I don't read them and don't respond to them. But some enjoy coming up with the balances so I certainly won't wreck it for them by responding negatively.

Just wish people would not feel the need to insert themselves into something they don't like making that thing take up even more space and essentially shooting themselves in the foot.

I was indifferent to the gifs but now that I know how much they bother people I think they’re very funny.

The idea that there is a small group of people who see a bunch of gifs being posted on a 00s era hockey message board being turned into a guessing game and think, “Someone need to question the legitimacy of this… and this is my moment” is like a ITYSL skit.

I'm not sure its happening, I know they wanted to try and get something done (2-3 games) but the last I heard it never came to fruition.

Have to look at history despite all the drum beating by some insiders of this being a hot trade summer. Just like they said about the draft.

Last year, no trades consummated between July 15 and August 13. So we are in that dead window it would appear. wish the nhl would put a mid July-mid August trade freeze so we know what to expect.

I'd assume there is more discussion than normal.

Just because there is more cap space than normal.

By this point of the offseason the past couple years you'd have 20/30 teams at the cap ceiling already.

This year 22 teams have more than $3M of cap space remaining, and only 4 teams are at the ceiling / over the cap.

Problem remains though that there is no "pinch point" to get a deal done today. Teams don't have pressure yet to make a deal, and won't until it's closer to the season and they want to make sure they have the piece they wanted in their lineup for training camp.

At this point I'll be surprised if Ras gets traded before the season starts.

If that happens it'll be interesting to see what happens near the TDL if the Flames are in the hunt for a playoff spot again.
