I think a Sanders/Trump debate could really help out Hillary. Bernie is going to lose anyway, but if he can bring down Trump a notch or two that's a good day at the office for Clinton without having to do anything.

I seriously wonder what Bernie is up to with that.

I'm thinking it is to help sway delegates that are only obligated to vote for Hilary Clinton on the first ballot only. Convince a few delegates to spoil their ballots in the first round in order to vote Sanders in the second round in order to keep Trump out of office? I'm just spitballing here. I have no idea.

Bernie is taking a page out of Trump's book, as the debate would be an amazing amount of free advertising for a campaign that is low on cash. There's little risk to him other than he does badly and loses both New Jersey and California (which he might anyway), but he's unlikely to win either by any more than high single digits and even that isn't close to enough, so there's not a ton to lose. Trump I would assume ultimately passes on it, but then again he's still Trump so the ego will decide.

I don't know I think Trump does it because it looks bad on Hillary that she's not at the party.

Lol Trump probably won't choose a woman or minority VP because that would be pandering. White males only.

No way that this could help Hillary. In fact, If Sanders does bring down Trump a notch or two that will make it that much harder for Hillary to close this thing.
Trump has already won the nomination. If he wins the debate, he wins via making himself look good. If he loses the debate, he wins via hurting Hillary.
If this happens it's a brilliant strategy. Trump is going to mess with Hillary by propping up Bernie. Also, if this does happen I think that people will be surprised at how much Trump and Sanders agree on.

Hillary or Sanders, if Trump comes out of it looking silly, he'll look silly. Then if Sanders (by some miracle) can get the nomination Trump is done like dinner. And what if Hillary picks Sanders as VP? I don't think it's a foregone conclusion this debate would help Trump.

Trump has spent the last 10 months looking silly and look where it got him. At the very least, a Trump/Sanders debate means just another night where Hillary gets virtually no face time on TV. And like I already said, no matter who wins this debate (assuming it even happens) it hurts Hillary.

It got him some of the lowest approval numbers in American history, so there's that. All he exposed in that 10 months is the GOP has been waiting to be co-opted by someone espousing their most extreme views in a flamboyant and over the top way. Sure enough, here we are. And it is worth noting there's still a good chunk of the country who has paid little to no attention to this race, so he still has the ability to drive his approval numbers even further south. And I wouldn't underestimate him doing it. Just ask him, he's tremendous at everything.

This article does a nice job of explaining why the Sanders debate play is a great move for Trump.

Obviously anecdotal, but I've been in the states a fair bit recently and I think it's interesting to note that every cab driver I've had was supporting Trump. Black, white, and even a hispanic fellow. People love a strongman.

I don't really think it's the strength thing, because he flip flops non-stop and that's a clear sign of weakness. I think it's just people like that he's wholly, completely unapologetic about everything. He could say the sun rises in the West, and while it's obviously wrong, as long as he never apologizes for saying it he's pretty much good. It seems his supporters like that a wealthy individual who has little to nothing to lose in the grand scheme of things can say and do whatever the hell he wants without recourse or compromise.

Trump calling Elizabeth Warren 'Pocahontas', attacking Republican Governors Association head Susana Martinez when she didn't go to his rally, I don't think we're going to see this conversion to a more presidential Trump that people thought might happen after he locked up the nomination.

Trump is such a interesting figure that this thread gives no love to the violence and stupidity coming from the anti trump supporters in Chicago, Anaheim and New Mexico

"It's going to be a beautiful wall. Someday, when I'm gonzo, maybe they'll name it after Trump," he said. "I'd really much rather have a statue in Washington, D.C. I don't want a wall named after me, but that's OK. I want a statue in Washington, D.C."
As the crowd cheered, Trump suggested maybe he'd "share it with Jefferson or something."
"We're going to build a wall," he added. "It's going to be a big powerful wall."

Trump's clothing line has fallen on hard times since his comments concerning Mexicans and Muslims in the early primaries led to retail giant Macy's dropping the Trump clothing line. And Trump's manufacturer, PVH, has said it is phasing out its licensing agreement with Trump.
But you can still find Donald J.Trump signature brand clothes on the internet, though apparently at drastically reduced prices. CNN purchased several Trump brand items online including a $16.95 dress shirt made in Bangladesh, a $166.88 pinstripe suit made in Indonesia, and even a dollar-shaped tie clip made in China bought for $24.

The Trump campaign also sent CNN this statement: "Mr. Trump has had a relatively small, but extremely successful clothing business. He has been very open about the fact that most of these products are unfortunately not manufactured in the United States due to the extreme currency manipulation by countries like China that make it nearly impossible to compete and manufacture these products in America."
CNN's Reality Check team found that the Trump campaign statement is false. It is not true that China manipulates its currency to benefit manufacturers; Chinese currency has actually strengthened in the past 10 years.

Can the fact checkers check facts correctly. The key part of the statement is whether or not it is cost prohibitive to manufacture in the United States which they ignore. They call it a lie because China has slowly deregulated its currency. I mean trump lies constantly so at least when fact checking focus on the point of his statement.
