In this instance, the zombies were pulling Nicholas' intestines out, and Glenn was underneath Nicholas. It would make sense for them to be occupied with Nicholas. I just don't think it's this huge stretch for Glenn to make it under the dumpster without a bite. It would only take a few moments of distraction.

No way an adult man fits under a dumpster.

An actual comparative in this situation would be closer to "What would you rather have: a big pile of crack being surrounded and eaten by 50 other crack users making it impossible for you to even get to the pile of crack or the slow moving pile of crack that just slowly brushed up against your leg while it was trying to get under the dumpster to hide from you while struggling to fit under the dumpster anyways?"
Man, I really hope Glenn is just dead and never heard from again.

So in your mind they've created zombies and the rest has been based in reality? I guess they've been kinda based on reality but couldn't Glen kinda sneak away under a dumpster? If Glen lives, they're not going to make it something like him teleporting or pulling a flame thrower out of the dumpster (although that would just be great). They've been "stretching" reality the entire series so after everything that's happened, Glen making it out of that situation shouldn't be that mind bottling.
On a side note, I was wondering that since there are all these famous actors and whatnot who are TWD fans, why doesn't the show do more cameos of famous people in it. I'm sure a lot of people would love to just be a zombie in an episode or two.

I don't think that's in my mind. That's just the premise of the show.
Him getting out of that situation without a single bite would be incredibly stupid. Zombies have been progressively getting 'weaker' as human conflict becomes the main point (and maybe you can attribute that to the decaying flesh of the zombies) but this is still a world where 99% of the population was killed by these zombies. If it was as easy as you are implying to get out of a hoard of them, there wouldn't be a zombie apocalypse in the first place.

I thought that was what we were going to get in Fear the Walking Dead, since they chose LA. They have dropped the ball on that, so far...

I think at first when the zombie apocalypse started it was a lot worse. People weren't prepared or skilled like they are now and there started out to be a few zombies and lots of people but now the food for them has become a lot more scarce...I'm surprised more of them aren't dying from starvation!
Either way, for the most part I agree with you. I think that if they were going to do a near death experience like this, they should have done it in a better way. I think Glen will be alive and the excuse...I mean reason he made it out will be extremely lame. I just try not to think of any kind of logistics when it comes to this show (or any fiction for that matter) just because I find if you just sit there and doubt things, you enjoy it less.

Why do we assume this? Anyone who dies becomes a Zombie, so in theory a huge % could/would have died from starvation and disease or human's killing humans.
I actually liked that twist, cause it lends some credence to how a zombie takeover could be semi possible.

I'm 6' and 165lbs. Steven Yeun is 5'8" and 150lbs. Typically fans use the actors height and weight as the characters height and weight, unless otherwise stated in there show.
I can tell you for certainty that I can fit under a dumpster. I also had a paintball gun, mask, and a few hopper packs on my hip/waist. It was tight, but I did fit.

Dumpster-brand trash bins are top-of-the-line. A man could fit. Now if this was just a Trash-Co waste disposal unit, then Glenn is definitely zombie chow.

The zombies now are as magical as the white walkers and wights in GoT. Except in that show, at least you can say 'hey, it's magic!' They constantly seem to be rewriting the 'rules' on them. There's no consistency in how they behave and no realism in how they might still be operating or existing. We've seen zombies that are completely rotted out that are still able to walk and bite. Maggie's hand was literally moving through the muscle and flesh of one, and it was still overpowering her. Huh? We've seen single zombies that overpower a person one to one, and groups of zombies that can't seem to have the dexterity or strength to take down a limping man.
So really, the writers will decide who gets bitten and when. There's no point to it. It's become a reverse deux ex machina. An increasingly contrived way to increase tension, or change up the plot. I assume Glenn will survive, even though it makes no sense. It's just a cheap way to increase the tension.
At this point, I'm over it. The thing that still keeps this show interesting and fun, is the human villains. Terminus was really cool, and the Wolves have the promise of being interesting. There's some good acting and storylines, like the Morgan episode, though I generally wouldn't point to this show for great acting. But there's some and when it's shows up, it's really good.
But the zombies, there's no point in debating them anymore, cause there's no rationality or credibility to them anymore. It's just cheap writing at this point. It probably always was, but, it takes a certain amount of examples to show just how cheesy and lazy a plot device they have become.

Agreed. And I swear, everyone on this show must have hearing problems and can't seem to notice the zombies until they're actually on them.
That or the zombies have stealth training.

I don't know how they pay this off - but they need to in a way that isn't dumb on either side. It needs to justify not just showing him getting 100% killed that epside, while at the same time be somewhat beleivable.
Don't know how they do that. If they get it wrong though - they are going to hear about it.

At this point the only thing they can do if they are going to keep him alive and come out of it with a semblance of credibility is Glenn in a wheelchair with his arms and legs amputated.

I just don't get this....he slid under the dumpster. Of all the incredible things that have happened, why is that one the most improbable?
Maybe he kicks a zombie in the face, then slides under a dumpster...

Mostly because its a main character from the Atlanta 5. If it was say Father Gabe/Abe/Eugene people probably wouldn't be too crazy about it.

And then the dozens of zombies just ignore him? The same zombies that they were leading miles and miles away from their base because of how intent they are at following and eating anything they hear or see? The theoretical zombie he kicks is just going to be, "well I tried, better get back home to the wife and kids?"
Under no circumstances should less than a dozen of those zombies be going after Glenn. Hiding under a dumpster shouldn't work. Even if they were to ignore Glenn completely, the zombies should have already crushed and trampled him to get at the dead guy on top of him, considering that's their goal and he was surrounded by a 100 zombies. It's already stupid that 4 or 5 zombies are kneeling down eating the flesh of Nicholas while the rest are patiently waiting their turn instead of doing the only thing they do. And it's not like the writers didn't account for that, they already have shown what appears to be zombies pressing and squishing one another against the wall at Alexandria with the blood coming through the cracks.
The writers and director intentionally set it up so that it looked like Glenn was dead, they put him in a situation that was certain death - heck you can even tell that Glenn knows it's certain death as he isn't going for a dumpster. It's the logistics of his death being 'off-screen' from the rest of the main characters, and the way the intestines were shown, that have left room for him to be alive. If Maggie was on the rooftop watching what happened, there would be no one looking up the height of a dumpster as it would be a very clear death. So it's not that it's improbable, it's the fact that if he does get under the dumpsters it's just extremely poor writing.
