Best case scenario has the Oilers missing the playoffs on their final game of the regular season. In overtime. At home. Against the Canucks.

Weird, but I am suddenly the biggest fan of the Mammoth, Kraken, Kings, Preds, Ducks, and of course the Sharks…

Lots of teams in the mix to bring us to pure end of season joy.

They just need to trade for Kurri.

I tried to find it again but couldn't find it.
Fuhr == Skinner?

All five of the Oilers’ big guns in the 80s had multiple 100-point seasons with the team. On the current roster, only Mavi and Pissy have ever broken 100, and they had to blow off all defensive responsibilities to do it. Even era-adjusted, the current Oilers have nothing like the firepower they had back then.

That’s why, 40 years ago, the Oilers got 119 points in an 80-game season with no 3-point games, and this year they’re on a pace for 89 — below the league average.

Nugent Hopkins has hit 100 too, just fyi. Don’t want you to get “well, actually”’d by any oilers fans.

Technically RNH did it as well, but it was such a big outlier year full of McPoints. He certainly couldn't do it on his own and will never do it again.

Right, he did it once. He also wasn't one of the players mentioned in that tweet comparing their current players to the team from the 80s; which is why I overlooked it.

Maybe Ryan Nothing-Happens really is Jari Kurri after all, and could just rear up and score 71 goals in a season any time he wanted.

In which case, obviously the Oilers have already won five Stanley Cups in the last decade! Can't argue with that logic, now, can you?

It would be so hilarious if the oilers somehow miss the playoffs this year. Would have to be the most frustrating season in a long list of frustrating seasons for McDavid in Edmonton. Signs an extension with the Oilers that leaves millions of dollars on the table. Team uses that cap space on Walman, Mangiopane and Frederic contracts. Team finally tries to address their goaltending… by trading for Jary. McDavid loses the gold medal game at the Olympics and is directly asked by Edmonton media why he keeps losing championships.

Would anyone blame him if he demanded a trade this offseason?

And left $6million USD per season on the table so Stan the man could fritter it away on Agent Mangiapanne, walman and Frederic.

Oh and getting to deal with greaser media and fans.

100% why he only extended for a couple of seasons. He might look dumb and maybe he is. But his agent probably isn’t.

Hopefully the Oilers bring on Heinz Ketchup as a sponsor as well.

I mean, obviously this is beyond laughable, in and of itself. But if any Oiler fan wants to try and go there, just ask them to now do:

Simpson
Tikkanen
Krushelnyski
MacTavish
McLelland
Hunter

Huddy
Muni
Gregg
McSorley

Fuhr

And then sit back and let the hilarity unfold!

I love the way we are completely ignoring one of their 'hall of famers' , good.

and don't forget, if there wasn't Fuhr oh look there's Andy Moog.

I saw a social media post yesterday where Stauffer suggested Edmonton could be ‘shaking things up’ today. Obviously nothing announced yet. Firing knobby? Cause that’s the answer….
Maybe the two players on waivers is the ‘shake up’.

It has been more than 2 years since the Flames lost a game in which they scored at least 4 goals.

The Oilers did it twice on their 3 game road trip.
