Incredible to watch this in real time. There’s a real chance by the end of this term the US allies are down to India, Russia and North Korea.

Simping for and meeting with the AfD and refused to meet the actual German leader.
This quote though..."if American democracy can survive 10 years of Greta Thunberg scolding, you guys can survive a few months of Elon Musk," VP Vance tells the Munich Security Group.

Just in - firing of all staff (300) charged with controlling the nuclear stockpile. OMG, so brilliant. They fired the lot without knowing what they do. You get a bomb. You get a bomb.

Canada has already started spending billions on problems that are somewhat centered in Trumps imagination. I know people who have cancelled vacations and put houses up for sale....
So the reality is that he is saying a lot of things wildly out of norms and expectations, and the world is forced to respond because he occupies the bully pulpit, just saying the things is doing something.
There is very credible first hand anecdotes that he does not take military action seriously, that he demanded the USNG fire on US civilians, that he has explicitly endorsed genocides, that he doesn't respect boarders, and he is prone to outbursts with explicit threats and that he does not feel he can back down from.

I get what your saying. My industry, company, province, country are all doing the same sort of things.
But my point is he actually hasn’t physically done anything to canada beyond rattling our cage. He knows we are run by idiots and are in a major position of weakness.
But outside of tweeting all he has really done is expose our soft underbelly. A soft underbelly of our own doing. Because we allow idiots to govern us.

Some actual news that would have been an Onion article last year.
Missouri's AG Andrew Bailey is suing Starbucks, arguing that its workforce is too "female" and "non-white" and as a result Missouri consumers “pay higher prices and wait longer for goods and services" because its workforce is "less qualified"
Hard to decide if its more racist or more sexist.

You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of the situation. You can't wax poetic about your ignorance than try to explain to others whats happening. It's childish

Former Republican Adam Kinzinger weighs in on the threats towards Canada. I doubt this will put anyone's mind at ease, but in terms of our collective mental health right now, I think every little bit of positivity helps.

As Canadian leaders piece together just how serious U.S. President Donald Trump is over making Canada the 51st American state, a former Republican congressman says it's all a performance — and Canada shouldn't be afraid.
"He's trying to look tough. He's trying to entertain," Adam Kinzinger said in an interview with CBC's The House. "He doesn't intend to make Canada the 51st state. The guy's actually scared to death of actually doing anything."
|
Quote:
When asked by guest host Murray Brewster what his message for Canadians is — as Trump continues to deride Canada and suggest it become the 51st state — Kinzinger said "you don't need to be afraid of him."
"The thing I've learned about Donald Trump is he backs down when he's confronted," Kinzinger said.
|
Quote:
Kinzinger said a trade war would hurt Canada more than the U.S., since the American economy dwarfs the Canadian economy, but Canada should still find ways to "push back."
Kinzinger said that Canadians should "find a reason to continue to be proud of your country and have Canadian patriotism grow from this."

This sounds like an Elon and DOGE special. The US will be an even less functional place within a month.

I can’t imagine anyone with functioning brain cells looking at what Musk did with Twitter and then want him to do that to America.

This is pretty basic ####. Like yes, we all know this, but we really don’t need people saying this so publicly, because then in order to save face he really will follow through on his poorly thought out “strategy” and threats.
Just let things play out how they will and let Canada put the States back in their place when the time comes. Even if they came and took over the country, there’d be so much quiet activism to undermine the USA here it’d be a nightmare for them.
