I believe this has come up before and the way the rule is written, it's only considered offside once the player touches the puck.

The puck can enter the zone while the other player is clearing the zone so long as the player entering the zone isn't in contact with the puck. We see this all the time on delayed offside situations, but it's usually not so close so we don't think about it.

As long as the player leaving the zone has cleared (touching the blue line) before the other player enters the zone and touches the puck, it's considered onside.

It's close in this low-quality view, but it appears that Celebrini first touches the puck after it is inside the zone at the same time his teammate's skate touches the blue line.

It would be pretty hard to argue Celebrini didn't maintain possession there

Yes it would, but that's not the rule. The rule requires the player to actually touch the puck when it's inside the zone.

Good goal, similar to the amazing goal on the play to make it onside by Makar vs Edmonton in the playoffs:

4th and 5th goals are Mavi specials. It’s the hands tossed in the spirit of disbelief.

Haha. It’s over now!

Mavi 3 assists and a -1. He was on the ice for 4 goals against!

5-4 in regulation.. chef's kiss

And that's one of the "easier" opponents they're going to face down the stretch.

did you know that in a prior game, the sharks blew a lead against the amazing Oilers? if you didn't, just rewatch the game and listen to the Oilers announcers reference it about 50 times

How many goals has EDM given up since they re-hired Coffey the defensive specialist?

No idea about Coffey but,

Since they traded Stuart Skinner, they have averaged 3.58 GAA in 29 games.

They are no good.

I disagree.
Celebrini had not touched it inside the offensive zone.

How soon until they call up Calvin Pickard and demote the rookie, because if they keep him up behind that defense they'll wreck him too.

Are the Oilers going to scramble to trade for yet another goalie?

Watching McDavid without the puck is just pure joy, he's completely awful. Watching his eyes skywards look of disgust after every goal pure hockey pleasure.

The Oilers are fortunate that they are in a embarressingly weak Pacific Division, but anyone that thinks this team can fix things with a couple of changes is foolish.

I don't expect Conna to be in Edmonton by the end of next year if the Oilers miss get bounced early this year.

They could use a guy like Kulak.

Or Broberg.

Or even a Ceci or Decharnais

While the Flames starting 6 next year costs $17.055M

(unless Weegar gets traded, then it will cost about $12M)

Connor must be sooooo happy that he gave the Oilers that discount on his contract only to have Bowman blow the savings by signing Walman to another ridiculous contract.

The Oiler are a bad, bad hockey team. No cap space, no prospects, no goaltending, no defense. They have two players, and that is it.
