Ehlers is a pending UFA. Makes no sense for Vancouver. I think he's a bigger part of that team then given credit for by the public.
Petey is locked in long term.

Every page without a gift is a win for jungleboi.
Hopefully some trades start soon and teams who miss out on one target make panic moves.

Yeah that would be a perfect fit for Winnipeg absolutely.

What about something around a Byfield package for Pettersson, I can’t imagine Van wanted to deal him to a team in their division who they’ll be battling with down the stretch but LA has good young assets, cap space and the theoretical pieces to potentially get it done.

Why would LA move Byfield?

I feel like the Habs are kind of a fit for Pettersson. They seem to like soft players with attitude problems.

The standings are close in both east and west.
The end of the month is when it will get more spicy. Too many teams haven't chosen one way or the other besides the clear tankers (Anaheim, Chicago, San Jose and Buffalo).
Anaheim is the most active team in the league right now by far on the trade front.

Anaheim are not clear tankers.
They have won 7 of their last 11, beating WPG (twice), CBJ, EDM, NJD, UTA and TBL
Losses have come against COL, VGS, PHI and EDM
pretty tough schedule

has conroy done an interview recently I've missed? Seen a couple people recently mention him talking about this or that and I can't find anything on fan 960.

Do you know what they are looking for for their players? Do they really need more draft picks or prospects that are down the road to making it?

I don't know if it was mentioned somewhere already, but Seravalli said that the Jets are one of three teams keeping an eye on Jonathan Toews who may try for a comeback. The other two teams are the Leafs and Avs.
Pettersson would be a better long term target for center depth, but Toews would be free at least.

From what i've been told the islanders have tabled the best offer.

This was my thought from pretty early on. Nelson and Pelech (NTC locks in July 1st) make the money work. Slots in behind Horvat. George and Odelius on their way up.
Pelech/Myers stabilizes Vancouver's defense in a big way as a second pairing that can handle heavy lifting. Nelson is a solid 2C, but a rental.
Prospect capital both ways to even things out?

Interesting idea. This would probably be the best center they could get back in a Petterson trade.

Would Liljegren be an upgrade on Pachal or Miromanov? I thought he had some great potential, but coaches just don't trust him enough.
PS: This seems like a classic Treliving, sign a player to a contract, and have instant regret. Glad that's not our problem anymore.

There was also a rumoured beef between Horvat and Miller at the time when Horvat was traded. Everyone denied it then as well of course, but there seems to be a pattern.

There's enough evidence Miller is a very abrasive personality, once he finds a fault with a teammate he seems to not let up. I can see how that would grate on you and perhaps require other players in the room to step in, like Richardson did.
He can't be the only guy like that in the league but probably one of the worst. Will the front office lose patience?
