While it's nausea-inducing that one of the oilers coaches is mr. perfect hair gulatzan, at least we can take some solace in the fact that Woody isn't the head coach on this run. Imagine these post-game pressers with that little bag of milk at the podium.

I’m betting a ton on the Oilers. Either way I win.

Dallas, in the WCF against these same Oilers.

Draft Pick

At the end of the day, Edmonton is still a Canadian team and for that single reason, I’m cheering for the oilers. Tired of Bettman and the states sh$&ing on the Canadian market. Canada needs this and if anything, maybe it’ll light a fire under other Canadian clubs to elevate their game.

This won't change a damn thing about how the Flames go about their business.
It's why the Panthers need to, and will, win Monday.
The Oilers are an outcast given preferential treatment.
The Flames can't expect that and won't pay for it or be handed the media coverage like Edmonton.

I encourage everyone to peruse the Wiki article for the 1942 Stanley Cup finals to fully understand how unprecedented this is.

THE Jack Adams was the coach of the now infamous losing team, the Red Wings. In game 3, he was suspended for the remained of the playoffs for ATTACKING A REFEREE! You literally required the Coach to fully commit a crime for this to happen.

the only positive of this has been bonding with you Flames fans over our shared hate of the Oilers. I had some bad experiences with a few posters when the Jets came back and let it get to me and I had an intense negative reaction to it and the board, and the Flames by extension. It's nice to put down that baggage.

You literally needed World War 2 to be in full swing and STILL have the coach commit a crime for it to happen.

Flames ownership is committed to saying they're committed to winning a Cup

I still have enough giveacare left in the tank to enjoy a Flames game and would love a deep playoff run, buy can't really care as much about other teams and being an anti-fan.
But I don't live near many Oilers fans either.

I hate this saying . Is a barber just playing dolly ? Is a persesonal design artist just doodling kids drawings ? Is a architect just playing grown up Legos? Are landscapers just doing kids chores? Are chefs just helping mommy making dinner? Etc etc.
I get the sentiment behind the comment but It's really disrespectful. Professional sports is as valid of career as any . It fully engulfs their lives . They do work hard to get to perfect thier crafts. This is just a butt hurt comment people make cuz they get paid more than most. It is what it is but that saying is a pet peeve.
End rant/

You know what, I'll give you that. The reffing in general is atrocious, and the Draisaitl elbow was an egregious attempt to injure Florida's best player which should have been suspended. Still, Florida plays that way, and it appears that the Oilers decided they were going to get out front of it. Right or wrong, they are doing what it takes to win against a team that spent most of the season and playoffs scaring their opponents.
Don't get me wrong, though, I hate it and no one else should have to like it either.

Who cares of a Canadian team win it all. I've never gotten the mentality for cheering for another Canadian team. It's not my team .
Canada still wins as we own the cup. It's our property that the nhl literally rents from us.
