That actually sounds about right. Not a huge separation between the teams, but I truly think the Yanks get more wins than that. I think the Jays will get more wins than the Rays, but I also think the Orioles will have a breakout and be fighting with the Yanks.

The Rays are better managed and coached than the Jays, even if they are too beholden to the analytics at times, they just have a better grasp on things than the Jays do. I fully see this team in the basement again.

Can't believe how inept the Jays mgmt are... basically walking Guererro to his lowest value before making a move with all the media reports saying they are no where close to a deal. But yeah, re sign Varsho, that .214 batting average will really move the dial

It takes two to tango.

What are they supposed to do, give him a blank cheque?

Of course Atkins used his famous “we have to stick to our evaluations” when talking about a signing Vladdy to an extension. Just an awful GM, and Shapiro is the real one pulling the strings.

Yeah, treated Vlad as an afterthought all offseason and Atkins tune hasn't changed in first day of camp with that annoying non chalence and patronizing tone.
Really have to think that Atkins and Shapiro really want nothing to do with him, but, because him and Bo came up through the farm and are fan favourites, they have hung onto them, Rogers have maybe told them to figure it out and and are thus being very vague and non committal with the corporate speak about him. But really they don't seem to give a care about locking him in.

Mind boggling because it's proven they the Jays can't easily attract top players, so take care of the ones that do want to be here.

Don't get me wrong, Vlad is and has probably pushing the number up as other players sign, but again, Atkins and Shapiro had the chance to sign Vlad long term for a year now and have misread the FA market and now the price is high.

Or maybe Vlad was waiting for them to punt Atkins or Shapiro and that hasn't happened so now the situation is awkward.

Just ineptness. Whether or not Vlad goes or not, good chance one or both of Shapiro and or Atkins is gone regardless and then you've lost Vlad and or Bo probably needlessly.

No chance at division in the AL East in my opinion

Lots of holes still, not sure if they will add another hitter (DH) and 3rd.
