He was released during that weird time where HHH and Steph were kind of put on the back burner (after HHH had his health issue) and Vince was running show again.
I would bet if HHH was still active with the roster decisions then he wouldn't have been released.
You know Vince was just like "These guys are black rappers...that will never sell...release them"
That's a good point. I also kind of the think that Swerve's current character might not really work in a PG environment.
A recent study by Wrestlenomics indicates that AEW’s TV audience earns higher income and is better educated than the TV audience of any other wrestling show in the USA. However, the median household income ($61,500) for Dynamite’s viewing audience is still 17.5% less than the national household median income ($74,580).
WWE SmackDown’s viewing audience ($47,900) comes in at 35.8% less than the national household median income, which helps explain why FOX didn’t renew its TV deal with WWE.
Hoo boy, the AEW hornets nest has been shaken up today. Anyone on reddit or Twitter talking as though this could actually be a thing just getting swarmed.
So last week, during Drunkichos NDA rant, Hausman took a shot at Jericho having people sign NDAs as they leave. NDAs cannot shield you from illegal acts, so AEW better hope to high hell Chris never went beyond basic sex pest ####. Even if that's all he's doing, probably time to tell him he is no longer "Senior advisor to the CEO*

And personally not a fan of the culmination of the Devil storyline.
Also AEW feels a bit like a shell of what it was initially...especially tonight.
No Cody, Hangman, Young Bucks, Omega, Lucha Bros, Britt Baker on the card at all...pieces like Starks, Darby, and Guevara relegated to a poorly booked 8 man tag match.
Tonight AEW felt the most like "WWE Castoffs" than I think it ever has, really feels like the company has shifted.

It could only be Cole. Apparently chants of 'NDA' and 'Kylie Rae' during Jericho's match. Keith Lee being pulled right before the show due to injury. Then claiming it's not that... Despite him being the one to claim that he has been hurt for two years. Same #### he pulled in WWE. Reading from the Miro script. Don't want to job? Just don't job.
On the other side of the wrestling world, Kevin Dunn and his many cuts are leaving WWE as head of production. A cause for celebration for anyone who gets dizzy watching the WWE product.
It feels like things are kinda imploding with AEW, But the Jericho stuff is potentially hugely damaging, With the departure of Matt Jackson's wife who was running merchandising. The Bucks taking a break. Omega out with an injury. MJF coming out and talking about how banged up he is, and talking about how he feels he's stale.
Keith Lee is no surprise, he was booked well and heavily scripted in WWE, but he's just put on a bunch of weight and he can't seem to connect with the audience.
Adam Cole as the Devil, Thank god it wasn't Jungle Boy, but Adam as the devil isn't all that intriguing or surprising.
I would like to think on the Jericho side of things that they would take it more seriously then referring it to a "disciplinary committee".
Honestly at this point it would probably be a smart move to take Jericho off of TV.

AS far as Kevin Dunn leaving WWE its not surprising, he was a Vince guy, HHH looks like he's completely changing the creative direction of the company.

Andrade's contract confirmed to be done in AEW as of tomorrow.
Have to think HHH (and Charlotte) would want him back in WWE. He's actually a guy I think could be a star if used the right way and both AEW and WWE have messed that up.
I ordered the PPV tonight, wish I hadn't. I've ordered other ones in the past, this was the worst one. None of the matches were really that good, although that Mox / Kingston chopfest was entertaining. Was disappointed that the masked men didn't include O'Reilly and Fish. On a side note, the best PPV I ordered was the one a couple years ago that had the Bucks / Lucha Bros cage match, which turned some of my friends into wrestling fans that night - I remember that PPV was a banger from start to finish.
Super happy though that Joe is champ. I don't anticipate it'll last long, but I'm a big Joe fan so happy with that result. Hoping Jay White or Will Ospreay is his next feud.
