Curious if there isn't something more serious about Kolb's concussion.
Vick is exciting, and can look like a world beater, but he'll eventually let you down. I have never thought of Reid as being wishy washy on decisions like this, so who knows?

Alex Mack claims Shaun Smith grabbed his private parts. http://backporch.fanhouse.com/2010/0...private-parts/
Quote:
Smith told the AP that he had "...no comment. I don't recall doing anything like that. I'm not known for being a dirty player or anything like that, so I don't know what that was all about."
|
Quote:
The Cleveland Plain-Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot spoke to Mack after the game:"I'm trying to hustle to the ball. I'm trying to help [Jerome Harrison] and he's a shifty guy. I'm trying to rush there and get a block and move things, be fired up, play the game with passion. A little too much passion. I probably should've pulled off that. It hurt my team and I feel bad for it, but I'm trying to play the game fast."
Mack didn't say if the Smith grab led to the penalty but acknowledged that "there's things I can do better. You want to be aggressive and attacking. You just can't have penalties."

All these talking heads on Twitter are saying it's not concussion related and that Vick is playing too well to take the ball out of his hands.
While I can't complain with that, it does seem odd to spend an entire off season prepping the team to move forward with Kevin Kolb, calling him the QB of the future (which I think he is for the Eagles) only to hand the ball to Vick now.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s report quoted one investigator as saying McKinley had been depressed over a knee surgery he had a month ago.
“He had made statements while playing dominoes shortly after the surgery that he should just kill himself,” the officer reported. “No one believed he was serious.”
|
Quote:
The report also said McKinley had made statements about not knowing what he would do without football. It said McKinley had flown to South Carolina 10 days earlier to see his young son and had brought him back with him to Denver on Sunday night.
|
Quote:
Two female friends who were taking care of his son discovered McKinley’s body Monday and called 911. Detectives who responded to his home a few miles from the Broncos headquarters found McKinley’s body with a pillow over his head and a semiautomatic pistol on top of the pillow. They also noted a strong odor of freshly burned marijuana, according to the report.

According to the article, Reid had to be persuaded to go for it by front office. I think they had to do it. If Kolb had struggled again this week then they would've had to consider making the switch next week with Washington coming to town, and that would've been an absolute circus.

Too bad for me because I invited a few of my 49ers fan buddies to come watch the game at my house.

I was at the last game at arrowhead that SF came to town. It was an abnormally warm day and KC beat them down with the backup because Trent Green was concussed.

Braylon Edwards won't start at Miami, but will play.

Nah doctors can say anything. You know how teams pressure doctors to give the ok for a player to get back sooner? This is the opposite :P
The nanosecond that Vick has a bad game, Kolb's concussion will be healed.

I think the last two times the 49'ers have been to Arrowhead the games have been pretty one sided in favor of the Chiefs. The last meeting was a 41-0 drubbing, and the time before that in 1997 it was 44-9 for the Chiefs.
I don't think this Chiefs team is capable of putting up 40 points unless they pull their heads out of their arse and let Jamaal Charles have the ball 25 times a game.

|
What really killed Pittsburgh last year was a stretch in the middle weeks where they went from being a 6-2 team to a team that lost to KC, Oakland, Houston, Cincinatti at home and a tough road game in Baltimore. They were 7-7 and pretty much out of the playoffs when that finished up. They had a 5 or 6 week stretch where they allowed either a Special teams return, or defensive return TD against. In that loss to KC, they allowed one of each, and it was killing them, since they weren't getting any themselves.
I'm not that surprised that they're 2-0, they have Polamalu back and he makes a huge difference for their pass defence. Without him teams could attack them through the air as they couldn't force turnovers. He's as important to that defence as Ray Lewis is to the Ravens.
They're back now playing tough defence and grinding out what they can on offence. If Roethlisberger gets back playing like he did last year they're proably as good as anyone in the AFC.

Mr good guy himself Larry Johnson gets axed by the Red Skins. Time to run this dummy out of the league for good. At least he opened up his big dumb yap so the Chiefs could get rid of him before he tainted the franchise record books forever. Hey Larry talk to your old coach Todd Haley, maybe he can give you some tips on how to get a golf game together since your football days are long gone. In his day he had some talent, but a 5 cent brain.

I don't actually expect anyone to read this, I just get a crack out of Dave Spadaro. He's an Eagles staffer who writes columns for the website with a very contrived image of objectivity. He's basically the Eagles' equivalent of the Iraqi information minister. He finds a way to put a positive spin on everything. He's also the guy who horked a loogie on the star at Texas Stadium last year which got him in a lot of hot water.
