I just think they should have made a separate law for gay couples like a civil union.
Because that would have change the family dynamic so much that it would save the children from the evils of gay marriage?

There is absolutely no difference in the family dynamic if you compare gay marriage to a gay civil union.

Why do I care?
Because the nuclear family is probably the most important institution in society.

With easy divorce, over-sexed media, hardcore feminism, current economic conditions and now gay marriage, it seems like the family unit is being radically transformed, and not taken all that seriously nowadays. If we didn't have immigration here, our population would actually drop because our fertility rate is below replacement rate, which is 2.1. In Canada it was 1.6 in 2008, and has been around 1.5 in the early 2000's. This drop in fertility rate is because a significant portion of the nuclear families in North America are very dysfunctional, and I believe most of the things I listed above have played a huge part.

I just think they should have made a separate law for gay couples like a civil union.
So how many kids do you have? If it is so important, is there a law forcing us to marry? No, of course not. There should be no law that demands a married couple have children. With that said, a married couple has no obligation to have children or to be able to have children.

Many people have pointed out that there are all sorts of bad heterosexual parents and there will be bad homosexual parents, so why determine one group can get married and the other cannot?

Why is the nuclear family the most important institution in society? I think science and law are the most important and from your post history you would disagree.

Because of privacy concerns. Open urinals, etc.

I know certain offices have experimented with unisex bathrooms. However they had to then call in the hazmat team.

little girls being alone in a room where grown men take their pants down regularly would be part of it. You know, try and think ridiculous comparisons like this through. Imagine your daughter goes to blow her nose and a trucker is zipping up his pants, of course then you'd have to escort your children to the restroom every time, but yeah that's the same as gay people getting married.

Serious question: Are there actually laws prohibiting the opposite sex from using a bathroom marked for a specific sex?

I blame religion for all the bigotry towards gay people. The world would be better place if we burn down the churches, and outlaw bs religion.

If left to their own devices, wicked men will do wicked and good men will do good.
If you want a good man to do a wicked deed, you need religion.

I don't blame religion, I blame bigots like Fred Phelps and other ministers for duping their congregation into thinking Gays are evil.

There are churches out there that actually support gays.

Dude beyond Phelps' family his church has like 12 people.

The Catholic Church still maintains a anti-gay position as do most Islamic states. that's about 3 billion people. It's far more prevalent than that.

I think its funny when people say marriage is sacred and that homosexuals shouldnt be allowed to get married because it isnt in the bible etc.

I never made a comparison of segregated restrooms to gay marriage so try to read this thread a little closer.

And why is a kid seeing a part of someone else's anatomy such a big deal? It's a cultural notion, like believing homosexuality is wrong. Maybe people would be less uptight about nudity if restrooms were unisex.
