Not totally sure if I want to put iOS6 on my 3GS. It ran iOS5 well enough, a little slow but useable.
At least it won't be for very long until whenever I can get my grubby hands on an iPhone 5. =P
Only, I have an 8 GB and the update will be like 1/3 of my phone. Argh...

Wtf is wrong with the AppStore asking for security questions and timing out can't download anything.

I bet it has something to do with 40 million people upgrading the os and updating the apps all at the same time.

What's the best way to deal with a problem Mac? My mini is still under it's one year warranty and I think there is something wrong with it. It's my HTPC so I only use it to watch videos but when I do anything on the desktop it's pretty slow. Far too slow for an i5 with 4 gigs of RAM. This morning the fan was at full speed when it the computer was idle and it's quite warm to the touch. It's done this before and it doesn't seem normal. Do I make an appointment and take into the store or do I phone Apple?

Next time the fans spin up like that, or it feels slow, open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder, select All Processes from the dropdown at the top-rightish of the window, and sort on %CPU - tell us if anything there is using 25% or more CPU continually.

Annoyed with Apple today, I called the Apple store because I wanted to see if they had a Macbook Air with 8GB RAM in the store to purchase (MBP died on the weekend), and they assured me that I would be fine, so I drove all the way in, and of course they don't stock them (no one does, you have to order them online apparently).
I guess I'll wait until an 8GB one shows up in the refurb store.

Apple TV update today brings shared photostreams to them. Finally my parents can stop bugging me for photos of the kids for their screen saver.

What are you running as a media player? I had Plex installed and it the CPU process was pegged at 100% constantly. I had the library refresh in default mode which checked every time something changed in my library. I changed this to once a day and the process dropped to 1-2%.
I'm not running the new beta version yet so I am still using the older 0.9.3.x version. I don't know if this issue was resolved in a newer release.

Nice, I'll wait until it's jailbroken before updating though.

Ever since I updated my iphone to ios6, when I go in to the app store to download a new app I enter my password and then it asks me to answer a few security questions (if I choose cancel it cancels the download). I answer all the questions then it says your session has timed out try again. Is anyone else having this issue?

I would suggest trying to download the app in iTunes and answering the questions there. Once done in iTunes, it shouldn't show up on your phone.

Yup it was Plex running at 100%. I changed it to check it every 12 hours, hopefully that fixes it. I am running the latest now, so I guess we'll see.

I am hoping to avoid anything manual. Everything else (apart from initially adding a show) is automated.

I got an 8gb ipod from one of my vendors and it disconnects from wifi every time it goes into lock. Is there a way for this not to happen? I've done a bit of searching but haven't found a solution just yet.
It is running ios6 if that matters.
Thanks.

That's by design to extend battery life, it should connect back to wifi when you unlock.

Thanks.
That kind of sucks. What about streaming, downloads or notifications? Is there any way to disable? Wifi uses such little battery anyways it hardly seem sworth it for such a great annoyance.
Is the iphone similar?
