I heard that Brett Wallace will not be called up until the trade dead-line passes. It has more to do with years of service etc....
|
I think anytime after June you are ok for the years of service.

Romero with an uncharacteristically rough night... yet still gets the win. This team, unlike previous years, has just found ways to win games. Whether it be through pitching or hitting, they are getting it done. Nice to see now, with the future being even brighter.

Snider has been really good the last week or so. Even his outs have been hit hard. Good to see.

That line-drive homerun that he had a couple games ago was especially impressive. They're a fun team to watch this year.

Wow great come back! with two out in the top of the ninth Jays are down 4-3. Adam Lind hits a HR.
Jason Frasor, gives up a double in the bottom of the ninth but generates the Save!

Really nice to see Lind get out of his small slump, he had something like no hits in his last four games.
If the Jays can have Wells, Hill and Lind all producing they will not be an easy team to beat.

You do have to wonder how the Blue Jays may have fared differently the last few seasons if they could just play even up ball against the Yankees, Red Sox, and Rays. They seem to do quite well against the AL Central in particular. Right now they're 15-8 against the rest of the AL, but 1-5 against two of their Division foes who tend to rough them up.
So far they're winning a lot more games than I thought they would. Certainly hitting a lot of home runs. Will have to see if they have a summer power outage like they did last season where they stopped hitting in July and August.

I agree, Jays are bound to cool off. However they are sure fun to watch.
Great performances from the young starters, lots of clutch hitting and they seem to be getting HRs from all of the players.
I believe Buck has the most HR from an AL catcher.
I agree Jays will struggle against the Yankees, Rays and Red Sox.

As of right now I think Buck leads all American league catchers in Home runs and RBI.
Alex Gonzalez also leads all American League short stops in those two categories too.
So although it's pretty much a guarantee that it won't be that way at the end of the season, it's been fun to watch so far.
I've been impressed with the starters on the staff thus far as well. They do lack that big horse in Halladay, but the rotation does seem to have decent depth and there is a couple guys on the farm too. If McGowan or Litsch ever makes a recovery to pre-injury form they could have the type of staff in place that they'll need to go up against the two heavy hitters inside their Division.

The more I think about it the more I see JP's essence linked to this team's success for the next upcoming 7 years. He has installed many memorable for the wrong reason moves and some other very solid moves to counteract a lot of the karma. It's because of him that we have: LInd, Cecil, Romero, Hill, Snider. Yet, don't get it confused, I'm happy he's a former employee and his departure has led to the installment of Anthopoulous.
Anthopolous is to be commended for this start and addressing the speed issue of the club but don't forget that JP's teams, despite the bad karma, were always bullies in the AL Central and competitive in the West. So, I am encouraged and reverent with this club and all the great baseball we are experiencing is the source of it.
Man alive, with the little expectations we have for this club, the way they are playing is so much more meaningful.

Man that young starting rotation has alot of potential going forward.
Watching the game the other night, when Cecil had a pefect game into the 7th, they mentioned that the Jays young starters had held a no hitter into the sixth how many times in this short season already?
I think it was like 5 or 6 times. Unreal.
