new question: saw in the FOI forum that the nhl now owns the whalers logo rights. does that mean we will finally see their alternate jerseys in the game? i would love to see them again!

Just a wishlist of things for next year:

-Go back to the team goalie masks, or add some generic mask designs like in NHL 07 I believe

-I think they should allow you to add glasses to your player, or go without a helmet. I'd love to make a Hanson type player

I'd really love the ability to upload your own goalie mask and helmet designs. There's no reason that couldn't be done on a modern console.

Until there's a way to sterilize the offerings, most of the mask designs that would be user generated would probably feature a lot of dicks and predator faces.

Does anyone else always go to Mutual Quit when in a VS game, and keep clicking it until the other player returns to the game, so that you're not the one to wait?

I can't be the only one that does this.

i'm confused, i didnt think you could go to mutual quit while waiting to go back to game play

I keep pressing A when on Mutual Quit, and it says "Do you want to send a mutual quit request to your opponent?" and you have to go up to go to 'yes', so i keep pressing A on "mutual quit" then "no" then "mutual quit" then "no" and so on, and then when the other guy goes back to the game it says "your opponent has returned to the game" or something like that. Then when it tells you that, your cursor or selection is automatically on resume game, so you go back to the game and don't wait for the other guy. Clearly you don't do this like I do LOL.

There is an issue present in the Be A GM game mode that may cause your playthrough to get stuck in the AHL, with no way of returning to the NHL.


To avoid this issue, there are two solutions:

• After playing any AHL game in Be A GM, make sure to manually save your Be A GM file.
• Turn off autosave entirely (This can be done on the Profile Management screen in My NHL 10). Remember to manually save your file before exiting the mode.

Please note that if you do decide to leave autosave on it is also recommended that you alternate between two save files when playing Be A GM as well as manually saving after every game or when you exit the mode just in case you do encounter any issues.

Well, I just got hit with the 'Be A GM' Freeze... I went through the deadline once and 5 minutes into my first game after the deadline the system froze up. I thought it was just a random glitch, so I went through the trade deadline again and saved right after. Now I'm unable to play any games - the PS3 just locks up at the settings screen. Of course, I didn't bother to do any google searches until after the freeze kept happening, at which point I realized this problem appears to be fairly widespread.

Has anyone else been hit with this freeze? If so, has anyone been able to resurrect their GM career? I have to say, it's fairly frustrating knowing that this problem, while not affecting everyone, has still been there for months without any fixes coming from EA.

Joborule, I know you do some work with EA regarding testing and development for their NHL franchise. Have you heard anything from them indicating that they're at least working on the problem? I'd feel a lot more secure starting over knowing that there is a fix coming down the line. Otherwise, I'll probably abandon NHL10 aside from a few online games here and there. There are plenty of other sports I've neglected over the years due to the NHL franchise, so maybe it's time to go back to something like Madden or FIFA!

I had this happen to me. Missed the playoffs as the Flames so I decided to bring Abbotsford to glory. Lost in Game 7 of the final and then got stuck in the AHL mode. Booo-urns.

They have the option of a 2nd patch still but I wouldn't hold my breath on it. They're full stream ahead on NHL 11 now and the only touches they're gonna do NHL 10 now is roster update and one or two more gameplay tuner updates.

i had that happen in xbox360 be a gm mode as well. Its a common issue but no fix, i had to restart and just hope it doesnt happen again.

however due to frustrations in some stupidity of the game i havnt played it for 3 weeks, heck i almost quit playing one month in because of the freezing issue but decided to try it again after the 1st patch.

Finally picked this game up today. Man, is it just me, or are the Flames virtually un-usable? They're so slowwwww. Maybe I'm just used to my team in '09, as by their 3rd season I had morphed them into a bunch of speedsters, but I'm not used to playing with a team this slow. They can't ever get any odd man rushes because the D ends up catching up with my forward before I can even get a shot or pass off.

And what's with only an 85 for O?? That's bottom 10 in the league, even Edmonton's ranked better than that! You can tell the game's made in Vancouver. Just started a franchise mode with the Flames, I think Unky Darryl's gonna be busy lightin up the phones..

Been playing lately, VS that is.... after taking a break, the thing that frustrates the HELL out of me is when I play some scrub who I outplay him in every stat category but defeats me in those 1-0, 2-1 games..... it's like their goalie is glitched to stop everything or the puck is magnetic towards the posts. And the goals against me are ones he just throws at the net with my goalie glitched to being absolutely ######ed. Does this happen to anyone else but me??
