Of course it's not meant for swimming....it's the moon watch...there aren't any pools in space!
The Speedmaster is pretty water resistant, but it's not a dive watch, so you have to be a little careful. Both the Speedmaster and Daytona are rated at 100m (the whole rating system is ######ed because it doesnt mean you can go 100m under water), which is basically for splashing around, showering, swimming near the surface.
A watch like the Submariner is a diving watch so that you can play around without any concern.

On the thought of taking watches into water, I've always been afraid to do that with any.
Are they really waterproof?
If I took my superocean swimming, it would be ok?

The Superocean is a diver watch.....you have nothing to worry about, it was made specifically for that purpose. As long as it's in good shape of course (ie, it's not 20 years old and has never been serviced).

LOVE this thread. Some incredible stuff in here, and man some of you guys have awesome taste. One of these days I will chime into this thread with a picture of my collection.
I have 'different' tastes in watches. I love JDM Seiko Automatic divers, and I have 7 or 8 of them. Stuff you pretty much never see here. A lot of it I have had to order from over seas. Also have a bunch of weird random stuff. Couple Submariner homages, eco-drives... etc. If the season gets cancelled, I will be ordering a Seamaster Planet Ocean with my refund, Maybe a U-boat, but I want to see one in person first.
Anyway, my beater weekend watch finally kicked the bucket (GF's puppy chewed up my 10 year old G-shock ), and I found an awesome deal on a toolbox for your wrist. This is about $120 cheaper than even Amazon lists it for. I have either 18 or 20 watches all in the $3-800 range (two are missing, so the exact number is currently unknown), and I find 90% of the time I sport something a resin band and plastic case. I hate desk diving my bands, and we have those sharp aluminum door jambs at my office, and have trashed a few bezels with them. So Casio it usually is lol.
anyway:

This is actually an awesome watch. Barometer, thermometer, altimeter, the compass is way cool, it uses the second hand.... and a bunch of other stuff that will come in handy when you are going to war over a can of beans during the upcoming apocalypse. Best thing these things are poor mans eco-drive... aka Tough Solar no batteries needed ever. Awesome activity watch for $165 bones. The cheapest I have ever seen these before is $240. And MEC sells it for $400.
Anyway, I know this isn't really a 'Casio' thread, but I know a lot of watch guys with some serious gear that still keep something like this in their rotation. Just thought I would pass it along.

^^Good deal (I'm going to order one for myself and one as a gift) and generally good tastes in watches, but please don't buy the u-boat. They already look ridiculous, and they will not age gracefully.

^^ I wish there was a more stylish / sleeker atomic watch option. Casio is a good price point though for keeping accurate time.
Clock drift really grinds my gears.

What do you guys do for keeping your autos wound?
Anyone recommend a watch winder box, or just rewind them when you need to?

Only watch I own which is something I REALLY need to change.
Don't get me wrong, I love it but the red accents makes me feel stupid wearing it with some colors.

I have a superocean steelfish, and yes, I've taken it into water many times. It'll be fine.
But really, do you want to take a watch that cost a few thousand into the water a lot? I've only been in pools and even that is not a good idea.

I have two Wolf Designs winders. It is kinda like this one, but an older model. I could have sworn that I only paid about $75 each for them at J. Vair. They attach to each other, so you can keep adding them if you pick up new watches. They are not as pretty as some of the others, but the price was great.
As a side note, I figured I should post a pic of my latest watch. It will probably only be worn a day or two every few months, but it is a fun watch.
Edit: I just found someone selling the winder I have on eBay. It is version 4.0.

This is my modest collection of goodies minus all the goofy Casios, and digitals I have. Some of the Breitlings and Omegas in this thread is worth more than my whole collection, but I have a weird obsession with Seiko divers as you can see...lol.
Off the top of my head from the top, left to right:
Seiko SNAD05 flightmaster / Seiko SNZF15 automatic Sea Urchin (Pepsi bezel) / Invicta 8926c Automatic (Submariner homage)
Seiko SNZJ15 automatic / Seiko SRP229 pro-diver auto (My favorite) / Witnauer something or other ceramic (hate it)
Citizen military Eco-drive / Seiko SKX781 orange Monster (2nd Favorite) / Seiko SNN231P2 chrono (great dress watch)

That Ingersoll is nice, and they have a gorgeous watch on their site for ~$600, but does anyone know anything about them? I can't find much, which is a little scary.

It's pretty much just a Chinese watch company that bought the fancy sounding name of a company that went bankrupt in the 1920s. If you like the way they look, feel free to enjoy them....but don't buy one thinking it's some sort of heritage brand. For 600 buckeroos, you can get a pretty nice watch from a more respected company.
