Oh I get that, just thought it was strange to speculate on his playing ability or motivation based on the your own assumption of how he is taking his father’s death. We don’t know him (unless you do, then I apologize)

Having lost my father unexpectedly on a family vacation, I can relate, and after some therapy my perspective has evolved. But everyone handles grief differently and it’s based on so many personal factors and experiences, I can tell you it’s far more complex than assuming “he is a shadow of what he was or could be”

Don’t mean to derail either, it’s just that having done through the grieving process of losing my father suddenly, I know there’s very little anyone else other than myself would know about my personal grief experience, and it would be super weird for anyone to make predictions or assumptions about my abilities because of it

I should have used green text. Just reversing the original proposal favouring Calgary.

They make terrible trade partners.

Plus the chances of Columbus trading a first round pick unprotected is less that their chances of winning the Stanley Cup.

Hubby and a rental won't fix the BJ's problems, only add to it.

How about Laine and Gaudreau to the Flames for Andersson, a first (unprotected) plus Vladar and Pelltier?
I think, the Blue Jackets was one of the top 3 team with best prospect pools. So they don't need to rebuild.
They need collect a decent veteran players to develop their prospects.

Patrick is 25, is a goal machine when in the right situation. He’s dynamic when he’s engaged. I think Ohio is a ####ty place to be alone… guy needs a good hug and some love. The organization and this city would embrace him.

I’ll take him as the “cap dump” in a Lindholm deal 10/10 and twice over again.

Hubby? And a rental? That's not their answer.

Of course Jackets will re-sign Lindholm before they trade for him. So Lindholm will help Gaudreau. Hubby is expensive but he is better hockey player and personality than Laine, so he will help young players.
So they will have 3 star forwards at least next 3-4 years until the prospects ready to take over the team.

Laine didn’t like Winnipeg, he doesn’t like Columbus, and he wouldn’t like it here.

He’s been dining out on his first couple years for half a decade.

Hubby may not be a star forward any more. No one is touching that contract.

As the French don’t pronounce their H’s, I believe Johnny Ockey is available.

If Blue Jackets eat salary - we could use him on Wranglers.
