Depends on the prospects. Outside of Zary, Pelletier, and Zary I wouldn't be worried about trading any of them.

If they were wise they would band together and do this.
Buffalo is getting external pressure? Threaten to walk. That's how you get a guy to cave.

Friedman doesn't want to step on Weekes' party but you can read between the lines and say it's a bs rumor.
On the other hand, I do wonder if a Flames guy fed it to Weekes to gauge interest if Buffalo would be interested, and get the fans on board to put more pressure. Seems awfully convenient this drops now.

It would be even better if Calgary ended up with Jack Eichel.

One report out there is that Vegas has made their "final offer" and it's up to Buffalo now.

My honest suspicion here is that The Flames are nowhere close to Vegas' offer and these "leaks" or whatever they may actually be are just being used to try to get Vegas to up their offer. In short, I believe we're being used as pawns.
IF there is any truth to this, surprised at some's take on Tkachuk. Zero issue with moving him, he's nowhere close worth to his QO coming up and if there's any truth to the rift rumours then landing Eichel with him is probably better than what any other trade would get for him.
Someone made the Phaneuf comparison, bang on. Fan favourite but he has regressed significantly...let's just make sure the return is way better .

I still don't understand how Friedman is an insider and who would share details with him.
Elliott always comes across like a breadcrumber. Just a slightly more connected Dreger.
Weekes at least doesn't claim to have things to share every week. That's an awfully specific package to put out there. Meanwhile Elliott is just back and forth with vague hunches.

So how does this Eichel character compare to the legendary Joe Colborne anyway?

I really do not understand the viotrol thrown at Tkachuk by so many. Like he is some kind of passenger on the team.
Never mind his intangibles and just using counting stats, since he entred the NHL as an 18 year old kid, he is the 6th leading point getter among LW's in the entire NHL, has drawn more penalties than any of them, is a complete 200' player who has gotten better each season in that department, and has bled Flames red since day 1. He battles in the hardest area of the ice every night and takes crap from no one.
Team had a bad season last year and he was a big part of that. He is also a big part of the resurgence this season.
If I was him and reading this stuff, I would want the hell out of town as well.
There is no one even close in the Flames system that would be able to replace him either.
Again, just do not get the nonsense about him.

He's basically Joe Colborne with a stiffer back.
