Because Fry is very, very loose with the rules to the point where I get the impression that he understands that the contestants dont know them, as if they've never seen the show before which, to me, is very odd as a very popular game show.

I think it just needs to find its feet in the UK and I think it will in time, I dont know that I'll ever be a fan because the UK/EU centric clues...but I think once they get used to it it'll do well.

I still say, as much as I like Fry...get Clarkson in as a guest host. Thats one thing Jeopardy has never tried...get a host who is a genuine ass.
Clarkson is already the host of Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

I think Channel 4 had a UK version of Jeopardy in the 90s but it mustn’t have caught on then. The US version is/was on Netflix.

What the UK version desperately needs is for a contestant to go on a tear and rack up some serious money to generate interest. That, and/or a host that is just a quarter as good as Trebek was in the US.

Finally, they really need to tighten up enforcing the rules. If you don’t answer in the form of a question, you’re wrong.

He does host Who Wants to be a Millionaire and I have seen episodes, but I've seen clips.

Because they added a lifeline where you can 'Ask the Host' and Clarkson is an idiot. When contestants ask him for help all hope is well and truly lost and it is hilarious!

I think Fry is doing all he can. He has to be lenient on the rules until it really catches on.

In the US Jeopardy isn't a game. Its really serious. People in North America take Jeopardy really seriously.

Replacing Trebek wasnt like...'replacing a shwow host' it was more like 'replacing the Pope.'

Until the UK gets to that level you gotta dispense some rope. I'm going to watch a couple more this afternoon but as for Fry? He's eons better than Bialik and its his first day.

Let’s face it - Trebek doesn’t get replaced.

Unless its by Eugene Levy.

Friday’s episode, (10th in the series) had a category, ‘Oh Canada’.

What is Banff? Was one of the answers.

The rest were, What is Yukon, Montreal, Labrador and Lake Superior.

When was Mayim's last episode?

We are still a year behind in Australia. Thought we were done with her but nope she just showed up for the High School reunion tournament.

It looks like the last episode she hosted was June 30. So, if you're a full year behind, you've still got a lot to go.

IMDB shows that Ken came back after the High School Tournament for about 7 weeks before Mayim came back for another 9 weeks.

Odd week of Jeopardy so far. There hasn’t been a correct answer for Final Jeopardy since Monday.

I went on several dates with a Jeopardy champion once. She was great, I really liked her.

I wouldn't get past date 1 because I would spend the entire time peppering her about what jeopardy is like behind the scenes.

I thought I was half decent at trivia until I hung out with a three time Jeopardy champion. Our kids played hockey together, he was ridiculous. I couldn’t stump him with anything.

I've never met a Jeopardy Champ, but I tried a few of those 'Try out for Jeopardy' websites and holy crap.

Nope.

I know a lot of things, but my recall speed is atrocious. I'd get slaughtered.

I tried out for Jeopardy once, in my 20s. Not just one of "those 'Try out for Jeopardy' websites": the actual, scheduled (online) try-out. (Early days of them transitioning to the online application process.)

I didn't make it past that initial test. I got absolutely annihilated. I love playing trivia games, but I don't play often because people loathe playing with me. I used to go to pub quizzes; people stopped going with me, because I'd end up answering 95% of the questions. I used to play Trivial Pursuit with coworkers; we stopped because I won all the time. But compared to the people who actually make it on Jeopardy? I'm dog####.

I did the quiz about 12 years ago, I found the hardest thing was reading the question. They give you 30 seconds to read it and type an answer, I feel like it took me 25 seconds to read and understand every question.

I do play Jeopardy vs the Echo every day, and I think I average around 4 out of 6, so I'm not sure that even if I had time I would get a high enough score.

I’ve done terribly at most categories but I’m 2/2 on final. When it comes to art history, guessing one of the ninja turtles is always a good bet.
