I hate losing.
What's the saying? "Show me someone who doesn't mind losing and I'll show you a loser"

IMO, being a fan means being emotionally invested in the good times AND the bad...

Literally saw all the Black Aces (didn't pay close enough attention to see if Dube was there) and certain Stockton folks checking into a hotel earlier this evening here in Calgary.

Player comments to the media right now are meaningless. It simply reflects how media savvy they are, nothing else.
And yeah if it doesn’t sting a bit when the team you passionately cheer for gets eliminated, you’re either trying to fool someone or you’re not that into it. Some people though can deal with disappointment a whole lot better. And you should also realize the Flames winning the Stanley Cup isn’t going to change your life. I was there for the parade in 1989 and it was great. As are a lot of things.

I may not act like it, but the mere thought of Games 2 and 3 drives me into a barely controlled silent rage.
I am about as sore a loser as they come when its playoffs.

I hope watching the Lightning get swept tonight lights a fire under the guys. If they just play with any sort of intensity and emotion, I think they can get past the Avs and then who knows? It's wide open now.

Hey, we went farther in the playoffs already than Tampa. Who would have expected that?

Flames needed game 2 and had their chances even if they didn't play great.
Glad game 3 was a blowout because that's better then a close win, and Colorado was going to come out hot. Add in the 5 on3 which killed the Flames momentum and gave it all to the Avs. Toss in Backlund playing patty cake with Makar instead of knocking him on his ass on the third goal, and it was all over after that.
Flames will win at home, they have to win at least one in Denver and will.
Home ice for as long as they last now too!

Watching the Isles Pens right now.... Isles are so fast and super tenacious. The difference between their open-ice game and the what the Flames have brought to the table in the last while is staggering, honestly. I don't know if the Isles are considered a fast team, but they are outskating the Penguins that's for sure.
Flames better find a) some cohesion in 5 man units and b) another gear

That was my feeling most years but as I mentioned in the OOT, I too bought into the Tampa hype and really didn't know how I would be able to stomach another Finals loss, which I thought was the most likely scenario had we made it there.
Now, however, I feel that this year is truly up for grabs (for the Flames specifically) if only they could get their game together and take it to the Avs like they have all season.

I'd like to win game 4, but it's not necessary. Could pull this out in 7 after being down 3-1

I hate losing too. Thankfully the winning or losing efforts of a hockey team I don't play for don't affect the wins or losses of my personal life.

Too many weird things can happen in a game (early 2 man advantage for example) for me to feel comfortable about winning 3 straight games. Would much rather they come back to Calgary tied as I feel the Flames just need a good effort and result to get things rolling.

After losing in 2004 every lose after that feels like a preseason lose. No big deal.

Only teams play against Calgary can come back and win the series after being down 3-1...

Didn't you know 3-1 is the worst series lead in hockey?

Honestly I just enjoy watching Flames playoff hockey. It would be such a bummer to be on the brink so soon.
