honestly, those post-match quotes that are coming out ... #### you Jose.

Crashing out is one thing, but arrogantly taking the piss out of it? Madness.

Happy to see Roma go through.

It's funny because the problems for United started in the road leg.

A 0-0 draw in the road leg is almost the worst possible result - maybe even worse than being down 1-0.

If you are down 1-0 you know you have to push and play aggressive, and the other team likely sets up more defensively as you push for a goal. Which I think is a better attitude to have going into the 2nd leg.

0-0 coming home means that as the home team it is more likely the coach is going to set up more conservatively since you really can't concede a road goal, and you don't really need to push for a goal that hard since you aren't "down".

But when it's 0-0 as the road team you can really set up to play aggressive. 0-0 does them no good since now you're playing extra time in their building. Pushing for a goal makes the most sense since a 1-0 lead is suddenly a 1.5 goal advantage and they need 2 to win. And being down 1-0 doesn't matter since you always needed at least 1 to go through.

Mou played right into that today. Set up defensively, Sevilla came out playing like they had nothing to lose, and now they are out.

Personally I'm liking this Mourinho doozy a bit more. Given the account I had to verify he actually said it, but it's a word for word transcription. Man is gold when he's melting down

I'm surprisingly not bothered by the result. As has been mentioned before they deserved everything they got.

When you listen to the likes of Scholes interviewed about their success they always refer to that they were encouraged to go forward, encouraged to be creative, encouraged to attack. In a way encouraged to be fearless.

Every since SAF left this fearlessness and positivity which psychologically put other teams on the back foot has given way to a fearfulness, a nervousness which teams sense. A fear of losing.

I honestly believe that you could flip Pep and Mou around with the same players and Pep would have success at United whilst De Bruyne et al would be somewhat stagnated.

It is one thing throwing millions at a bunch of individual players, another to get the best out of them and building a cohesive team.

Yeah, I thought United taking a 0-0 First Leg home was to their advantage, why on earth Jose lined them up to just let Sevilla attack them all night defies belief but then to bring the FA Cup into this?

And why drag Liverpool into this? We had nothing to do with it.

That's pretty much unacceptable from Courtois. Hard enough to get a result at Camp Nou without giving away cheap goals.

Chelsea have probably been the better team in this tie to this point, but three killer mistakes and they're done.

I bet mourinho is gone by summer 2019, maybe this summer if things spiral a bit

He's never been a fit with the DNA of the club, it's attack attack attack, not anything like what Jose is choosing to play, that's not saying he can't but he's not

The pogba thing is potentially becoming an issue as well, if he gets fed up and wants out it would be worse than what Chelsea did with kdb. Normally you would always say manager over player if it becomes a one has to leave situation, but not the case here, can't lose pogba. He should be the player they build around for the next 8 years

I have a blindfold and a cigarette with Ray Hudson's name on them. He is literally the worst.

The best part of the Bayern/Besiktas match...

Quote:
UEFA failed to see the funny side of a cat invading the pitch during Besiktas' visit from Bayern Munich on Wednesday, and has charged the Turkish club.

Besiktas also faces disciplinary action for throwing of objects and blocked stairways, but the "insufficient organisation" charge relates to the paws in play.

The feline jumped from an advertising hoarding and trotted around near the corner flag, forcing referee Michael Oliver to temporarily halt the match in the second half.

A post-match poll conducted by Bayern Munich declared the cat as its man of the match, despite Arturo Vidal and Rafinha performing well in a 3-1 victory. Die Roten won the two-legged tie 8-1 on aggregate.

Has no one from UEFA visited Istanbul? The cats have a tighter grip on that city than Erdogan.

RB Salzburg have kicked out Borussia Dortmund. More because of Dortmund being crap than because of Salzburg being good, but I'll take it!

Hoping for Atletico Madrid now, would be awesome to see them live here. Too bad Lyon screwed it up today, they would have been great too.
