As I said in an earlier post..
Giordano-Hamilton-Brodie-Hamonic-Stone-Andersson would be a terrific Top 6

I'm also certain you can go trade for Brodin for less.so the reasonable cap hit and age thing is still in tact.

Thoughts on Kulak-Stone as the bottom pairing?

hopefully the latter.
Giordano-Hamilton
Brodie-Hamonic
Bartkowski/Kulak-Stone
yes please. They'd still have 10-12m in cap space or so to re-sign their RFAs and get a UFA or two.

Young enough, decent contract, right-handed shot, plays a physical game. He's exactly what they need.

I agree. I think posters are looking at our future firsts still as a top 15 pick. This team imo is going to be battling for the division title this year even without Hamonic. I look at it as more giving up a pick in the 22-31 range. His contract is great. There is no chance you are geting a #4 in UFA for under $4 million. I'm pretty sure the going rate for ufa #4-5 D men is close to $5 million per year plus major term. Also if anything ever went south , they could always trade Hamonic to re-coup what ever they spent. It's a contract that i can't see ever hurting the flames.
The prospect part is a bit concerning though.

I'm hoping it's the latter. That'd be a really good d-core.

I don't see this happening, the price is to high IMO. However I'm usually wrong when it comes to trades happening.

I agree, I hope it's the latter as well.
Wouldn't be shocked to see Andersson go the other way though.

There is some (seemingly legit) folks reporting on Twitter that Hamonic to TO would be a go if JVR agrees to waive his NTC and agree to an extension.
Take with appropriate amount of salt please

I'd be shocked if Bartkowski is the 5/6 guy to start the season. Now is the time for one the kids to step in.

Kulak, maybe. I don't think Kylington and Andersson are ready yet. Defencemen usually need 2-3 seasons in the AHL. Andersson has only 1 season under his belt, and we've always known Kylington is a long-term project.

Or we can just try it out for Andersson seems to be working for a bunch of other teams..
I am getting a bit frustrated with seasoning players too long to the point that they just fizzle away

hopefully. Nothing would make me happier than a couple of the kids pushing and earning the spot.

Chris Johnston @reporterchris
There continues to be a lot of action at the N.Y. Islanders draft table. Could be something coming here with the #flames.
Wes Gilbertson @WesGilbertson
There seems to be a lot of chatter between #Flames and NYI brass right now ...
