I love jarome but I would be very unhappy if he went to greaserville. That would be worse than staying with the Avs.
I was on the fence but voted yes.

Gotta say, after all that's been said and done I'll still be crestfallen if Iginla's not a Flame at day's end.

Looks like LA is going to happen:
Craig Custance @CraigCustance
Definitely mutual interest between Iginla and Kings (as @TSNBobMcKenzie first reported). Colorado and LA working on possible deal.

My heart hopes that BT sweeps in and takes Iggy, but we know he won't.

If true, how is LA bringing in these big cap hits? holy moly. They have less than $1 mill in cap space left.

Retained salary plus prorated cap hit plus sending a guy down plus sending a contract back would make the numbers work, no?

I've always thought Iginla would end up in LA. It should have happened 3 years ago though, I don't think LA is going anywhere this year.
His cap hit is REALLY limiting here. $5.3 mill is a ton of money to somehow fit.

It's prorated so its not even close to 5.3 mill

I would rather take Iginla, despite what everyone says is bad about his game VS seeing him to to LA, or thr Oilers

Yuck, hopefully not the case. I wonder if Sutter thinks he can revitalize him like he did with Regehr.

Personally I think a Wideman (and a 5th) for Iginla swap would be more than adequate.
Which brings up two things - one, LA is probably offering a bit more, and two - Iginla doesn't want to come here, which is fair.

If Colorado retains salary, or takes back a good chunk of money, the Kings could find a way to barely fit Iginla under the cap.

I just really really really do not want the Oilers to grab Iginla. I am totally fine with him going to the Kings and feel there is little to no chance he is coming back here

Maybe it's Iginla thinking that Sutter can get him what he wants.
Reggie: I tell ya Jarome, playing with Darryl was great to do again. He was very instrumental in coaching us to the Cup! It was awesome to win the Cup! I wish you had the same chance.
Jarome:. Hmmm.... Maybe, just maybe Darryl and I could do good things again.

After watching LA's putrid offence last night, it actually makes some sense that they'd look at adding a guy with a great shot. They basically cycle the puck and throw it to the net hoping for a goal on a scramble and not much else.
As excited as I would be if the Flames added Iginla, I'm not going to be surprised if Treliving doesn't go down that road. He truly does not seem like a guy who makes decisions based on creating good stories, so if the Flames pro scouts aren't telling him that this is a guy they should be adding, then he probably isn't even considering it.

Why would the Avs do that?

Wonder if Gaborik would give up 12 for Iggy?
