I just came back to the thread this morning to listen to it. I agree, weddings and funerals, bar/bat mitzvahs, graduations, ritual suicides, it's rare to find a song that works for all occasions.

Thank you, I was wondering as well.
Did this get addressed? I actually think he said something along the lines of "I am messed up".
He is a right hand shot, but was clearly using the weapon with his left hand, and his right arm was in his jacket like it was injured.

It sounds to me like it might be a relatively new song, just made to sound retro. My guess is the producers didn't want to pay for the royalties to a more famous song.
The scene reminded me a lot of Lost, when Desmond is forced to listen to "Downtown" over and over. There was obviously more beatings and nudity in this version.
