I would not mind at all if we shipped out all of our 2nds in 2016 for the right goalie.

His new nickname should be Big Chief Beef Jyrki.

Then every time he checks someone he says "Bite me!"

hmm, wonder if that changes. I would think it would.

Darren Haynes @DarrenWHaynes
On Flames roster on NHL website, Jyrki Jokipakka listed as No. 2 -- same number as in Dallas. It was last worn by Mike Commodore in 2003-04.

It's still just silly that we're using that number

I hope not, why shouldn't we have a #2? MacInnis' number isn't retired, it's Forever a Flame'd. I mean, Bollig wore 25 last year...

Yeah but they haven't used the number in 12 years. It is almost semi retired.

Right now it's got a blank number. I imagine he will get either 5 or a high number.

If is offside to give a guy the number of the just-departed guy?

Totally get that, I agree it shouldn't be used but I always thought thats was part of the reason to have the Forever a Flame thing, was to allow player to be honored but open up the numbers to still be used.

Loubardias says Pollock developed and learned a lot from Curtis Lazar while with Edmonton.

Now, I'm just spitballing here, but of these two totally reasonable possibilities, I am going to go out on a limb and guess that it'll be a high number.

EDIT: Dammit.
