How would he have done if the forwards were moving quicker out the zone and he needed to be just that little bit more accurate.
Not to mention, how many games did he get vs. other teams that were out of it too and they weren't playing as hard. When you are a team that's in it, even the teams that are done get up to play you and play spoiller.
Also, we can talk all we want about how much those games likely meant to Nak, and that's likely true, but it gets even harder to perform when you not only have your internal pressure, but the external pressure of not wanting to let your team mates down in a meaningful game.
It might get overstated for sure, but the meaningless games at the end of last year were simply not the same and not as good a test as a meaningful NHL game would be. Too many little factors dialed down a notch or two for it to be the same thing.

Even if his team-mates weren't going 100% as you suggest, the other teams were (other than the Oilers and Avalanches of the league).
As a defenseman especially, if you're not playing at 100% intensity, and the other team is, you're in for some serious trouble.
Again, as I said before, there is no doubt that there were a few games that can be thrown out as low intensity. But to suggest they all were, is ridiculous.

Just heard on the fan that Monny will not play in the world cup. Vincent Trocheck will take his place.

It seems this won't be recognized as the world best-on-best tournament until the NHL pulls out of the Olympics. Which is too bad. I never saw any difference in the quality of play between Canada/World Cup and the Olympics. Guys like Gretzky and Lemieux didn't either. But if today's players aren't buying in yet, then it is what it is. I expect the 2020 World Cup, with no Olympic participation between now and then, will be a much bigger deal.

Meldonium.
Its banned in the NHL starting this season.
It sounds like something Captain America's shield would be made out of.

I still can't believe Muzzin made the team over Gio or Brody.

If it were up to me, I would put Matthews on McDavid's line, and put Scheifele with COuturier as a defensive line.
Or slide Drouin to the right side and put MacKinnon with them.
And for the US line, Larkin might be a better choice than Saad. Either way, it will be interesting to watch Gaudreau and Eichel
